Direct Anterior Surgery Comments

Hi Everyone,

Was hoping to get some insight on the Direct Anterior surgery method.  I am 52 and in need of a total hip replacement.  I am very healthy, physically fit and active.  The pain has been ongoing for 4 months and I have determined with my doctor that it will never be the same again.  I am tired of the pain and limitations it has brought upon me.  My concern with the posterior method was the activity restrictions and recovery time.  The anterior method suggests quicker recovery and less restrictions.  I live in South West Florida and there are only a few doctors who practice this newer procedure.  I would appreciate feedback and comments on this topic.

Kneeling to the floor was the hardest obstacle, but no problem now. My Dr. said no running,or jumping, if I want the implant to last. Bikeing, swimming, golfing, and walking, no problem. You should be fine with this surgery.
