Yes it all disappears! I consider it almost like a flesh eating disease because everything is gone.

I tend to agree with you though they call it fusing or scarring. Photos I have seen look like melted skin. I don't understand what is actually happening. I first thought of leprosy, but that is caused by a bacteria. I think there is a theory bacteria may be involved in LS, but only a theory. AI is the more popular theory.

I see nothing dramatic but a definite diminishment, particularly of the clitoral hood and labia minora.

yes, my doctor said my clitoris is buried under scar tissue now. I had my first treatment of the Mona Lisa lift and 5 days later i feel less pain than before i started the treatments. The jury is still out on if it will work but I am hopeful.

It is frightening for sure. the good news is my clitoris is buried under scar tissue but it is still there so orgasm is possible, penetration is out of the question at this point. my doctor mentioned after i finish my treatments he could do surgery to fix that but i won't do that as once this pain gets under control i sure don't want anymore. my first treatment with the Mona Lisa lift seems to have given some relief but the first 3 days after the treatment was pretty painful when i urinated. i did the same thing i did after my biopsy which was to fill a squirt bottle with water and squeezed water over the area while urinating. i had to start squeezing before i started my urine stream or it would burn badly. i am following all the comments on this site and hope this site will be helpful to us all. has anybody out there tried the Mona Lisa lift?

Are you in the US? Have never heard it called lift before (unless maybe on the face?) Does the laser cut through the scar tissue? I though it burned the skin and encouraged the production of collagen. Am more familiar with it being done for atrophy.

      Hi beverly

i live in Charlotte North Carolina. you are correct that the Mona Lisa lift is done for atrophy but clinical trials show promising results for lichten sclerosis. My doctor has treated seveal women with this method an d it has been very successful. it lasars hundreds of

pinprick looking spots to the area of sclerosis and burns the tissue so it regenerated new tissue growth. my next treatment is nov. 20 and typically it takes an average of 4 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart but he will do as many treatments as necessary.

Hi Cm, I was told by an MD who has a spa outside of Boston that she would give the PRP injection for LS, but it would only make sense to do it in conjunction with a laser treatment. When I asked if she used the Mona Lisa, she simply said "there are other types of lasers". Obviously not very forthcoming.

Don't think I've heard of the laser only for LS. You'll definitely have to give us progress reports. Women on this site have had ML laser primarily for atrophy, I think, particularly if it was causing UTI issues.

Are you able to get your insurance to cover this or is it out of pocket. Can you give us an idea of what the cost is?

Re the pain maybe it's like childbirth and you'll be ready to do it again when the time comes. Hope you have success with it.

thanks Beverly. i hope it works and i will post the results of my treatments. Insurance will not cover the Mona Lisa as far as i know. the total cost was $2800 for as many treatments as you require. some women need more and some less. every year following the treatment you go back for an exam and if needed a touch up treatment that is $500.
