Hi this is my neck , I'm 41 year old man , I've had one disc fused about 5 years ago the one above is not to bad but the one below is now giveing me problems .pain in left shoulder left arm , numb fingers numb left knee ,when I'm laying down it's not to bad can coop with it when sit up or stand it's very painful , been in pain for 3weeks now ,had an Mir last week pic below , I see the consultant in 9 days , I spoke to my doc and he said that the consultant is happy to leave it how it is , I'm in my bed have been for 3 weeks how can they leave me like this , not happy so when I see the consultant 9 days boy is he going to get a mouth full I need fixing , what can I do I can make them do it and I can't live in a bed ,,????????

    Hi, 

    I am on the Isle of Man, I spent 51 days in hospital and almost 9 months later they still haven't helped me.

    I have three prolapsed discs in my neck and even with me begging for a referral to England they have only just agreed to let me see a pain consultant.

    yours looks worse than mine to honest but mine is showing spondylosis a narrowing at Christmas.

    Best of luck I totally sympathise with you and wish you luck.

    Please let us know how you get on.

    I think the only way is to shout loud and keep at it you and I both know it's not right to be left in agony

    I suggest you tell your doctor that you will write to the executive director of your primary care trust showing the MRI scans and telling them of your constant pain and poor treatment and management. It is actually "gross negligence' to leave a patient suffering chronic pain without analgesic treatment. You really must assert your rights as a patient or elect and advocate to do so. I really do sympathise with you, what a horrible predicament you seem to be in.

    Hi I have now been to Preston and I'm going to have the disc fixed in 6 to 8 weeks just got to wait for the appointment I've done the consent forms there and then , at last I'm going to get sorted  I hope you get sorted out grahammolyneux , it's very frustrating when in pian and just want it to stop , I just went to Preston with my wife and pushed it on quicker ,

      Fantastic news...

      I have a referral to Liverpool now and it can't come quick enough.

      I was driving a couple of days ago and hit a pot hole in the road and immediately had to stop through pain

      my wife took over from driving and I got in the passenger seat slightly reclined 

      15 minutes later we got home but it took 6 hours for me to be able to get out of the car
