Hi ironman, I have had both facet and epidural lumbar injections and radiofrequency denervation where they burn the nerves away. When I first had these procedures I found them very helpful, but after having these procedures repeated, I find they are not as helpful as they once were. I found both to be of much help to me and they did relieve me of excruciating pain for several months to begin with. I know they don't always work for everyone but they certainly did for me. I hope you get relief from this!

Ironman23, radio frequency denervation is where they burn away the nerves and you should get 12-18 months relief from this procedure. It's a shame Kett87 that you didn't have much relief from your injections as when I had epidural, facet joint and sacroiliac joint injection I had up to 6 months relief, however they no longer give me more than 3 weeks relief. Good luck with your injections ironman23

Hi Gizmo 1963 I am glad they work for you. I made my back worse coz when ot went I was still going to work. This was in 98 put had to fight to go too get it seen too. When they give me a MRI in 2000 then had to have a opp straight away I have everything going too try to get back to work but the opp never worked 3 year a go I had a stimulater put in so it's been a long time been in pain. I feel for anyone who say they have a bad back coz there can't see the problem u feel that they don't believe you . With my back they saying it's Failed Back Surgery simdrom and savier pain simdrom I am waiting for my review but this time I have lots of paper work coz my left leg keeps giving way and it stops me going to the toilet so I have to go to AE but you get sick of the pain coz the Docs say they c'not do nothing for me but it's not a good thing fighting for what you need

Kett87 how I can sympathise completely with you. I was diagnosed with severe degenerative disc disease in both my neck and lumbar spine whilst still working. I was also then diagnosed with widespread osteoarthritis, tendinosis in my hip and elbow, bursitis in my shoulder and so on. I then had campylobacter which meant a stay in hospital where I contracted colostrum difficile. I then got ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, high bp and cholesterol and underactive thyroid. From all my meds I now have a slow transition in my colon. I also carry the brca1 gene so have had a double mastectomy and my ovaries and tubes out. So these injections we are talking about used to work a treat but no longer do. I hope they work for ironman23. May I ask if the spinal stimulator works for you as I was going to ask if it was possible this may now be an answer to my pain?

I have faucet joint injections 3 times per year for the last 6 years, best thing I ever done, my first lot lasted 7 months but now I get 8-10 weeks, they are painful but definitely worth it, youl be bruised for a few days. I was also offered the rhizo but I'm happy with my results and will continue until they stop working. They say if they don't work then this is not the cause of your pain. Good luck I hope they work for you.

if they work don't get complacent thinking you can go back to "normal" take care of your spine, prevention is better than cure, it's a never ending road to finding a cure 😊
