does your discharge have a smell or does it smell like nothing. also is it watery and did it come with any sores or anything. hsv in the genitals can cause bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections. those would need the cream and tablets to get rid of as well as the antiviral you take for the herpes. have you seen a doctor about it.

what kind of smell does the discharge have that people experinece with herpes ?

it depends. bv and yeast usually come with a fishy smell and the colour is usually greyish while yeast is thick white/yellow cottage cheese like. its a strong smell, when you smell it you will know it. or it may smell like bleach. most people with bv or yeast do get a smell but some dont get any smell at all. if your panties smell then thats also a sign. but if you do have discharge take your fingers or a cloth and give it a wipe then a smell. herpes can disrupt the natural ph in the vagina which would cause the over growth of bacteria for a yeast infection and bv.

its a watery discharge, sometimes with a bleachy smell and sometimes with a chemical smell. its also very persistent. i have not seen a doctor about the discharge, but i have gotten tested for herpes twice. the first was negative and i had an out reak soon after. i got tested again yesterday and im waiting for results.

was the test a swab or blood test. also a picture would be really helpful as to visually see whats going on. If your bv is being causes by herpes then you have to treat the herpes first before the bv. otherwise the bacteria will just come back again. that being said once bv is treated its usually a one and done thing. even with herpes, as long as you take care of the outbreaks with medicine it should be fine. also recurrent outbreaks start to become less bad so once you get treated for the bv you should be okay. also when did you first see symptoms and when did you go get tested after finding that out.

I do not really have any pictures. However, I did get my test results back today and they were positive for HSV-2. So I am guessing the BV is being caused by the herpes infection. She has called in the prescriptions for both and I will start today. Thank you so much for your help!! I first saw symptoms about a year ago,but I did not really take them seriously until someone disclosed that my partner may have had it. I was tested about three months ago, and again last week. Today was my first diagnosis.

hey im so sorry for the results. when you said constant bv did you mean that everyday you had bv symptoms. so for more than a month or so you had constant bv. also is that the only sign you got. was there no sores or pain anywhere at all. thanks for the response.

also you said the doctor gave you 2 sets of antibiotics. one for herpes and one for the bv?

thank you so much. i think i've pretty much gotten over the shock. by constant bv, i meant that I got it at least once a month. The symptoms were always water discharge with a chemical smell and i could not make it stop. Yeast infection medication cleared it sometimes.
I remember having one very bad break out that lasted a week or two. It had not occurred to me to get tested bc i had only been with one partner.
I got very small sores after, but they could have easily been mistaken for scratches or abrasions. The most recent was oozing ulcer and it hurt badly.

A treatment for Herpes is antiviral not antibiotic, I hope I didn't get you wrong, if this is what you are doing then great, keep it up and I will suggest you good healthy habits and food, and it can even not cause any outbreaks if you keep a healthy lifestyle.
