You poor thing Andrea, I do feel for you &

wish you a speedy, pain free recovery.

Is there any blood loss when you wee or

offensive odour? I believe pain is our bodies

way of letting us know something isn't right

but of course in this case your body has

been through so much so it could be

repairing. If I were you hun I would let the

GP know just to be sure & peace of mind.

Have you been resting, not lifting ect?

I have my appt Thursday for pre op checks

& chat with consultant some I have all this

to come. I'm worried about so much as I'm

divorced & live alone, my sons live nearby

but its hard with boys & no daughters.

Anyway at the moment it is you that needs

to get sorted. If you feel unwell, temp up or

    still having pain I

would get checked over just to be sure

Andrea. Let me know how things go please.

    God bless.

Hi Andrea, do you see the district nurse to have it dressed?.If it's a bit tender red and hot it sounds like an infection, ask they will get you a prescription. I had my TAH last June 2015, I had about 5 infections because the wound didnt heal very well in 2 spots and ended up having to have it dressed everyday for 5 mths but got there in the end.Dont feel alarmed at this , it was because I am overweight and Diabetic that I had healing problems.Good Luck.

      Hi Susan this is Colleen.

I'm due to have op soon so may I ask how your recovery went, I get told at

every appointment that I am over

weight & carry the weight around my

middle. I am 62 now & was slim till I

was 54 but just got heavier & since

my rectocele op in 2014 I can't do

any core exercises in fact even long

even long walks bring on discomfort

down below. Any advice would help.

      Thank you

Hello andrea. I presume your abdominal wound has healed, am I correct? It sounds as though you may have a urine infection or a vaginal infection so see your GP. It's probably totally unrelated to your surgery.

Thought so andrea. You know what to do so I know you'll be drinking lots of water. Take care.

Yes it's normal for you to have pain when weeing I had that when I had mine back in Nov it goes eventually also I could feel the switches pulling

It isn't normal after 10 weeks and if the symptoms have only developed in the last couple of days. With an abdominal hysterectomy the internal sutures aren't felt at all and the abdominal sutures will have dissolved or been removed some time ago.

What are switches? I've worked in gynae for years and never heard that phrase.

I'm no doctor but it could be a Uti? I would get it checked ASAP. Everyone's symptoms are different with a Uti, when I had one there was no odor or discharge just a pain that would prevent me from walking. My sister had had 2 and her symptoms were just like yours. Best of luck.👍 Prayers for a speedyrecovery recovery👼
