Discography.

Iv had lower back pain for the past 6 years following a scoliosis sugury in 2004. I have been getting no where with the nhs up untill this pint and i have had facet injections for the second time and the next step is a discography and i have stupidly googled it to find out information as doctors are very vague and now i am so scared to have it done. I was wondering if anyone has had this done and if so is it as bad as i think it is? Please get back to me. Thank you inadvance.

Layla.

I dont know if you had had this done yet or not. I had a discogram around 6 years ago. They sort of sedate you so your not fully with it but you are with it enough to tell them when it hurts. As they sort of place needles into in the disc to pin point exactly where the pain is coming from. I wont lie and say it does hurt but it doesn't last for long smile. Good luck

Hi. I'm not sure if its relative to you, but I posted a discussion recently about my back pain and have been looking through other postings. `What's really interesting is that their seem to be quite a few postings that say, as you have, that the pain has been going on for six or seven years. In my case I diagnosed Mycotic (fungal) arthiritis which is caused by a fungal infection in the joints and bones.  I have wandered how I got the infection in the first place and with the prevalance of cases with a similar time line, then maybe the infection was originally caused by something like a batch of infected holiday vaccination serum or tetnus or similar.  I'm very curious about the hows and whys. maybe you could help.

Hope things get better for you.

I have heard of this before but i couldn't tell you more about it. All i no is that im having a disc replacement soon and they siad this is a risky op and they dont no if it will stop the pain but i have tried lots of other things and nothings worked. What have they said to you about what you have and what is the treatment you are recieving? Layla xx
