Discoloured swelling on hip

Posted , 3 users are following.

hi,

3 weeks back i noticed that i have some mass under my skin on my hip. it is not one lump but 4-5 different small masses, some elongated. all are a little discolored, darker than the skin beside it. ultrasound results show no masses and just show extra collection of subcutaneous fat there. it does not pain and is not tender. no other symptoms. doctor says it could be an injury which has not healed. what could it be?

Could be a sort of stretch mark which has left the subcutaneous fat as lumps. Have you put on a lot of weight recently, especially over your hips? That can often cause these marks to suddenly appear as the skin and underlying fat layer stretch out over extra bulk.
