Discomfort in my neck

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have recently started having weird neck pains I have never experienced before and I am worried it could be to do with my heart. I have an irregular heartbeat and have been experiencing central and left side chest pains as well as this weird feeling in my neck and below my collarbone.

I just want to know from anyone who has experienced heart problems and has had neck pain related to that, how it actually feels. Could you describe the pain?

    Hello,

I am one of the producers at Dragonfly TV, one of the UK’s best-regarded television production companies. We work across all the major UK and international broadcasters and have won numerous awards for our medical content. Recent Dragonfly productions include BBC1’s Ambulance, which won the 2018 BAFTA for Best Factual Series and was the most-watched observational documentary series in the UK last year; the BAFTA award-winning One Born Every Minute (the 11th series recently went out on Channel 4); and BBC2’s Surgeons: At The Edge of Life, which told stories of remarkable surgical interventions and was recently recommissioned for a 5-part run.

We have just started production on a brand new medical science series for the BBC. In this programme, we want to showcase the best, latest diagnostic medicine in Britain and to help patients who previously have not been able to find a diagnosis for their condition. The series will feature a team of leading medical specialists, from the NHS and private sector, with different specialisms, who review patients’ cases and then invite the patients to their clinics for a diagnostic assessment and testing. It is common for doctors to seek a second opinion from colleagues in hard to diagnose cases.

These Multi-disciplinary Teams (MDTs) are frequently used in medicine to create a collaborative environment where doctors can bring such cases and draw on the expertise of a network of specialists from different field. These teams have a successful track record of helping patients who have gone years without a correct diagnosis.

I have just read your posts on here, and am wondering if you are based in the UK, and if you'd be interested in being a potential candidate to be put forward to the consultants. Please do get in touch if so.

    Best wishes

    Sinead Lynch
