Distal fibula fracture

hello, i broke my ankle 11 weeks ago, i was put in a boot and advised to wear it for 6 weeks, no need for a follow up, walk normally when pain allows. I recieved a follow up 2.5 weeks later. Then advised not to walk on it for 2 weeks. Another xray at 6.5 weeks, still broken but told to wean out of the boot over 4 weeks and discharged.

Every night my foot is swollen with dark bruising, is this normal? I have been unable to wean out of the boot as yet.

    Hello Alison,

    I'm still non weight bearing for a few more weeks.

    Every time I dangle/ lower my foot it swells and turns purple. I was told this is normal and to elevate my foot at night to help lessen the swelling.
