Distal radius fracture

I have a distal radius fracture .two weeks ago ..I have wires holding the bones stable
Also in plaster
The last two days I have been getting a sharp pain which I can only describe as
A feeling of the end of the wires catching on the dressing as the cast has some movement
Since swelling has gone down .
This is very uncomfortable and sore
I am not due to go back to hospital for another week .
Should I go back sooner .has anyone else experienced this ?

I wood report everything as I have found they just leave you to your own devices and then it could be to late to sort out.
I too had a Distal Radius Fracture 8 weeks ago
but mine was reduced and having all sort of problems now my cast is off so ask
the question and good luck.

Hi Catherine
I was not in any pain when in cast but since coming out of cast it has been very painful and I am doing the exercises religiously and my wrist has improved definately but my fingers are locked and I am worried as the physio mentioned CRPS last week that maybe I might have this!!! I have looked this up and really dont want to have this so waiting to see GP and see wht they say. I understand about driving and getting back to work it is a nightmare but believe me it sems to take a long time after coming out of plaster.
So Catherine allI can say to you if you are worried ask and hopefully you will be looked after better than I think I have been!!!!
I could have been unlucky and hopefully there will be other folk on here who can give you more positive thoughts so good luck and we are all different and we all have different health care.
Regards Wendy
