Distinguishing between MD and other causes

Hi,
I have had diagnosed MD for 6 years, but have had symptoms (head fog, tinnitus, hearing loss, vertigo, vomiting etc) for nearing 9 years. I go through good periods and bad (as I guess we all do!), but I often wonder that when I am feeling unwell if it is caused by MD or if in fact it is something else (which I should have investigated). So for example, I few months ago I was struggling with ear pain and hearing loss in my 'good' ear and put that down to MD. However, I later found out that it was an ear infection, which I suffered with several weeks, until my temperature became very raised and I saw my GP. I felt annoyed with myself that I hadn't gone sooner, but I am so used to carrying on regardless and blaming MD for everything!
My question is, does anyone else struggle with distinguishing between MD symptoms and 'something else'? I guess dizziness and feeling 'unwell' is something most people encounter at one stage or another, but how does an MD sufferer manage this?

Hi,
I do the same thing! I was feeling woozy a lot with light headedness, which I blamed on MD. My ear specialist listened to my complaints, asked if I'd had any rotational vertigo (I had not) and ordered an electrolyte test. I take a diuretic, so also take potassium supplements. The test showed I was low on potassium and that can cause light headedness. Since I upped my dose of potassium and also added a magnesium supplement, I have less of those symptoms. So sometimes it is NOT MD. But it is hard to know what is and what isn't.

Hi ! I get confused between my md symptoms and my vitamin d deficiency sometimes! There's been several times I've put my general unwellness to just another imminent me attack or brain fog attack when in fact I was highly deficient in vitamin d!!!
