hi my name is angel. i am so very frustrated an have been for 10 months. in this 10 months ive had 3 positive test results of ANA an RNP. RNP ranges from 1.6-1.9 an the last test showed ANA less than 1:80. ive been told i have fibromyalgia due to childhood trauma. ( which is so hard for me wrap my head around ). ive seen a nuerologist an now a rhuemy. whom also feels i have fibro. ( jus saw him for first time last week ). over the course of 3 years ive gotten sicker an sicker. more an more symptoms pop up. i have so much pain an am totally exhausted most the time. i can only perform so many physical activities until im just down!!! i cannot get a straight answer from any dr. my husband is beside himself as well because my well bien has declined so much. im at my wits end. i dont recognize this gurl anymore. my question is what do these test results mean? i have been searching answers an caint find anything solid. i jus  want to know whats goin on in my body an why im so weak an tired. fibro does not make sense to me. not with these test results and my result for C active protien is 8.1 an tha normal is between 0.0-4.9 which yall would know as tha inflamation factor in my body.  i realize yall aint dr’s an caint give me dr’s opinions. but im sure yall have expierienced something like this an can give me some kinda look into what all this means. thanks so much. i look forward to hearing from yall!!😩😩😩😩😩😩

    Hi muddduck!!!

I can understand your dilemma, I too am suffering (as with most on here) autoimmune diseases are the hardest to diagnose & treat (I am not a physician & I am not claiming to be but from my experience, my doctor & reading others complaints) it’s easy to see the difficulty... my issues have been going on for numerous years & have only increased in number (not to frighten you) I have learned to deal with it the best I can (I have no choice) there are things you can do to elevate some problems (research is key) the diseases I have, the doctor says there is no cure but he can help elevate some of the problems associated with my disease (I have noticed that is the case with many) my best advice is to learn all you can about your disease, listen to your doctor (if he gives up on you or acts like it’s “all in your head” find a new doctor (I am in the process of this right now, my doctor basically tells me, there’s nothing to more to do, deal with it & I do not agree) I believe you live in the States!?!? (I know good doctors here are hard to find) please just try to find something that helps elevate your problem, try to keep your spirits up & try to do somethings that you loved before your sickness (this is really key to mentally coping) ... best to you!!!

Have you had other blood tests done? Im wondering if they have checked mmp-9, cortisol, or other hormones? The reason I ask is because Chronic Inflammatory response syndrome can cause a positive ANA as it effects the immune system. I was told by a doctor I had lupus because the test was positive just to find out from a rheumatologist that I did not. CIRS caused my positive. This may or may not be what you have going on but if you are looking for a different possibility it might be worth testing for. My symptoms included fatigue, joint pain, ice pick pains, stomach problems, abnormal skin changes, headaches, static shocks, mood swings, weakness, numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, difficulty recalling words. It effects almost every system in the body. It took a long time to be diagnosed and find the right doctor. I feel that you know your body better than anyone else and sometimes we have to find a different doctor or disagree and make ourselves heard. Otherwise I would have been diagnosed with many things that I knew were not correct. I hope you find some answers and if this does sound like your symptoms and you have questions let me know.

Also...other than the ANA all of my bloodwork was negative until I found a doctor who knew what to test for (Cortisol, MMP-9, genetic test HLA-DR, ADH, MSH, VEG-f, TGF-beta 1, C4a, leptin, MARCONS)
