Diverticula Disease

Hey guys, new here.

So, i was diagnosed with this a long time ago. when i was diagnosed it was done via a sigmoidoscopy. lately however, ive been getting a lot of fresh blood and brown/black blood in my stools alongside a 5/10 pain in the upper part of my bowel which is unusual because its normally much lower down. yesterday, i went to the toilet, within a few minutes i was in agony. it had easily reached 9/10 on the pain scale and its still there today at about 6/10. it felt and still kind of feels like a knife is being dragged through my upper bowel. does this sound like a diverticula flare up? i cant put my finger on it.

Yes unfortunately it does, and sounds like a diverticulum may have ruptured. Diverticular Disease does worsen over the years, even with careful management. In these difficult times I would get on the phone to your doctor ASAP as I don't know just how they are treating non Covid-19 cases at the moment. Normally it would be medication, CT scan, colonoscopy, depending where you live.
