Diverticular Disease

Hi can anyone help please I have been diagnosed with Diverticular Disease but I get a lot of pain in my right side' also at the bottom of my tummy it feels like I have pebbles rolling around. I have also had a gastric bypass 5 years ago so eating bran is something I cant do and to be honest don't need as I go too much neutral as soon as I eat I am in the loo and I am so scared when I go out because I know if I get a little anxious I need the loo and I wont eat out because of the same reason. It feels my life revolves around the loo day and night and I am getting so drained and tried by it all. Can anybody help please my doc don't seem to know what to do neutral Thanks for reading x

Hi Kaz, I was quite worried about you when I heard that your temperature was so high, but it seems that you have got it down so maybe you will be able to cope with it on your own. As long as you do rest and ignore what the family are cooking etc. I am the worst one to give advice on resting as I have to be really ill before I will give in. I do know that with Glandular Fever you need a lot of rest.

I am having another good day but I get suspicious when I am O.K. for a while as it can change overnight. I have been eating the odd piece of birthday cake here and there as well and have had a cheese and tomatoe sandwich with home made granary bread lunchtime. I know that too much cows milk affects me but not so much my stomach as to clog up my nose and throat and make my throat tickle so that I have to cough. Annoying in the middle of the night. I seem to be O.K. with soya milk on cereal or soya custard.

As to the knitting machines Joan, it all depends if you persevere, it is a bit like learning to drive, there seems to be a lot to remember and then it all clicks into place. Also, one thing you have to do is to knit a tension sample first to ascertain the amount of stitches and rows to either 4" ot 10cm whichever type of measurements you prefer to work in. There are knitting machine clubs or groups all around the country, although not so many as there used to be. You could try googling "knitting machine clubs" in your area and then maybe you could contact them for advice. Whereabouts do you live? I live in Essex.

If you like you could email me separately about this. Machines also take up quite a bit of room, mine are in our back bedroom, which is not a bedroom now but my work room as of course all our lot have long since left home. Hope you are O.K. today.

Kaz please take care of yourself.

Thats a long way from me Joan but I am sure that there are a lot of machine knitters up that way. There are online groups as well that you can ask advice from.

It is awful when you keep having to go isn't it, public loos are worse because you usually have a queue waiting outside the door and you are worried if you are in there for a long time and it is even worse if you need to go again rather quickly. Although, touch wood, I don't get diarrhea so often now, I still often go quite a few times in a day and sometimes just don't want to go out but prefer to stay at home near our own loos. Many a time we have gone out in the car with me with a hot water bottle on my stomach.

Hope that you are much better tomorrow Kaz.

Hi Joan, my email address is xxx

Hope that you are having an O.K. day today.

Hi Kaz, keep resting, this awful virus takes a long while to get out of the system and it takes quite a while to feel well again. You certainly don't need this on top of your other problems.

Now for a chuckle: A birthday card sent to me from our youngest son and family reads:

Mum, it's your birthday, so forget about the cooking, forget about the washing, forget about the cleaning, just pretend you're Dad.(There is a picture inside with a man lounging in an armchair watching TV.)

I just thought that was so true and so funny.

Hi Joan, not a bad day today but a bit tired as I couldn't sleep for a while last night and ended up on the computer at about 1 am for a while. We have started to decorate our hallway, have been meaning to do it for ages. Stan has got on quite well today.

    How are you ?
