Hi all

I was diagnosed a week ago with diverticular disease I have had a constant lower right abdomen pain close to the top of my of my right hip. The hospital at the time of diagnosis said the pain is due to this but everything I read says I shouldn't be in constant pain just occasional pain. I'm not sure whether to get more checks or not.

Diverticular disease normally presents as severe pain in the lower left quadrant of your abdomen. The gold standard test is a colonoscopy.

I suffered my first attack of diverticulitis a month ago. Hospitalized with a perforated bowel and abscess. It's been a slow road back to recovery on antibiotics and liquid diet. Now 30 days later i have developed this new severe pain in the exact location you've described. Lower right abdomen right at the hip. It hurts too much to ignore. I see your post was months ago. Has anything come of that?
