hi all i was diagnosed with diverticular desease via CT scan when admitted to hospital in 2013 when i was told my colon nearly exploded! i have since then had several flare ups and recently had anogher hospital admission where a CT Scan showed a diverticular stricture which may need surgery to remove.... has anyone had surgery for a diverticular stricture and if so how are you now ?

hi ya... a stricture is a narrowing of part of the colon...in my case when a colonoscopy was carried out they were not able to get a camera thru' part of the colon

My Gi couldn't get scope past this part either. Did biopsies. All normal had severe diverticulitis last year, all previous colonoscopies normal,before this. I have severe back pain. Did you have this? I'm wondering if it's whatever is going on in this area. Virtual colonoscopy next week. Hope you see this . Am
