How can our condition affect holiday Insurance costs, either diagnosed as diverticulosis or as divertiticulitis? Has anyone experience of this?

    Hi Jimjamy

i travel to Canada at least once every year,  I told the Ins. company that I have Diverticilitis and its controlled by diet.   They took note of it but is hasn't made any difference to what I pay.  My ins. Is with Saga but other companies may differ.

I know its a rip off with some companies,i had travel insurance for a year and they charged me £80 extra, because of diviculitis which is drug controlled.needless to say we wont renew, everyone is out for a fast buck.

I should try another Insurance company if they are loading your policy. I've declared Diverticulitis on travel insurance policy for years and it's always been one of the conditions already covered, with no extra costs.

Thanks Valerie, I will try and look up a list on the policy we use.
