Diverticulitis

I was diagnosed with diverticulitis a few months ago.
But this passed week, I've been in pain on left side, tummy ache and lower pain in back.
Also sweating and feel very poorly no energy, my doctor put me on Antibiotics but as of yet they don't seam to have worked, paracetamol take the pain off but not completely.
I'm now a little constipated, the fibergel doesn't seam to help either.
They want me to have another CT Scan in 2 weeks time is the appointment, I feel that ill I feel like going to the hospital.
Anyone been like this?

Hi .
I'm on Cefalexin, as I've a chest infection as well.
I have to be careful what Antibiotics I have as I have allergies to some.
I can deal with the infection, it's the constant pain.

Cefalexin is one of the drugs prescribed for Diverticulitis, but it takes a few days to start to show an effect. Also it has some nasty side effects which might also be making you feel unwell. The chest infection will also compound how ill you feel. I personally don't take Fybogel whilst I am taking antibiotics, but I know others do. I use paracetemol and a hot water bottle for the pain, but that does take quite some time to clear. Are you running a temperature? Are you drinking lots of water? If you are in the UK, I suggest you ring your GP first thing tomorrow for an emergency appointment.

Thank goodness no temperature.
I have not had a reaction to these antibiotics so that's good, I guess I will just have to be patient and let the medication do it's job.
I'm under the doctor, I will be seeing him in the morning.

Sounds very much like an infection...I've had a few of those and each time it's taken until the end of two lots of Antibiotics to ease off.
The only painkiller that worked for me was Co-codamol given by a hospital Doctor.
Constipation...yes well the pain of that as well as the DD pains 'virtually halts you in your tracks' having to sit on the edge of the bed in the mornings waiting for the pains to pass reminds me of how I was with labour pains.
Recently started taking Slippery Elm Capsules and they've been a tremendous help for constipation.
If the pains don't ease off or if they get worse I'd suggest you go straight to the hospital...much better than waiting around for another Doctors appointment where the most they seem to be able to do is painkillers and Antibiotics.
I certainly feel for you

The pain seams to have eased a little but still got that little pain on the left .
At one point I was wondering if I had ovarian cancer as the symptons are very simular.
I'm under a lot of stress and worry at the moment.

Then a few weeks later I got a letter from the hospital wanting me to go for another Scan, which is in 2 weeks.
Then last week this first ever bad flare up came on.

I don't tend to get bloated, but I do go for a wee a lot, , I was up 4 times one night.
Guess it's all the water I'm drinking, but I have noticed i go more than I used to.
