Diverticulitis Follow-up

Posted , 3 users are following.

There is hope. I had a follow-up CT scan yesterday and the Diverticulitis has been resolved. I am 4 weeks into it now and feel better however bowels still are not normal and was told to stick with the low residue diet for a little longer. It is normal for the digestive tract to take a while to get back on tract (pardon the pun). May need stool softener for a bit.

That's great news Linda. Does that mean you don't have diverticulitis any more?

Yes, however I will be susceptible to flare ups from now on. Keeping my fingers crossed that doesn't happen. I can't believe how long it takes to feel better.

That's great. Yeah i hope not. Yeah i no it goes on for days. I just started psyllium husks capsules and prebiotic capsules, it says to take 6 husks capsules a day, is that not alot? I only got them today hope they will work

Is the husk the same as fiber? I was told no fiber supplements for now. I still have diarrhea so I was told to take probiotics for the next 2 months to get friendly bacteria back in my system. If you still have diverticulitis, fiber is too hard on the colon.
