Diverticulitis in splenic flexure

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have had 2 prior diverticulitis flares which have been in LLQ of abdomen. This time I got a pain at my waist on left side - which doctor said was diverticulitis. Ruled out kidney infection. Anyone had an infected diverticuli at this location? The pain has improved, but has lasted longer than other attacks.

It's actually common in that area, the sigmoid colon. The best thing to do is what the doctor tells you. Most likely stay on the liquid diet, then soft.

Hi there, this is were I had 2 abscesses and several flairs. However the last flair it was more to the middle and slightly right. Apparently the sigmoid colon can become floppy which causes this change in location pain. I am just recovering from a resection done on the 6th of May.

All of my flares, which I call attacks occurred due to inflammation of the diverticulitis. Like Sandi I ended up getting a colon resection a year ago. A couple questions, have they done a colonoscopy yet? And do they have you on antibiotics?
