Ann  you will know a flare up when it happens, have you had a diagnosis on this. ?

My wife has this cramps, nausea, vomiting, smelly viscous bowel movements, loss of appetite, fatigue and real real misery.

Doctor is wise be mindful of the many antibiotics wrecking your gut though

I was diagnosed 5 yrs ago and only had 3 flare ups however woke up this morning with urge to keep going to toilet and passing only small amounts (but looked normal) also pain low down but on right not left side. The last time I went to toilet slight mucus and a bit looser. Feel a bit nauseous but no fever. I also feel like I want to keep p opening my bowels. I’m not sure if this is s flare up or a stomach upset as (had pork chops for dinner last night) as 18 months ago when I had a flare up I had mucus and blood in motion. I have started a bland diet and taken some paracetamol. What are your symptoms Ann? Could anyone answer if it is possible to have a mild  flare up or does it always progress. I was becoming far too smug about not having many flare ups so will be careful what I eat in the future!!

Pain on lower left side = possible flare up, go to semi I liquid diet until it passes. If the pain increases seriously (you can’t walk), persists more than 3 days, and /or accompanied by a fever that lasts more than 2 days (over 100F) go see dr.

Hi Ann, everyone reacts diff with flares, but if pain is lower left but sometimes on right side also, to where you are doubled over, have mucus or bloody stools, vomiting or just nauseous, loss of appetite or fever start liquids and go to Dr. Get blood work done to check white blood cells and inflammation or infection. And have Cat Scan with dye. I never had fever or vomiting with mine nor bloody stool just nausea, loss of appetite and mucus in stools and cramps lower left . So now my Dr checks my blood work every 3 weeks. I’m on a good probiotics, vitamins B12, and D3, magnesium citrate, digestive enzymes, and a fiber supplements daily. I’m finally back to eating normal foods, from low FodMap diet and increasing more fiber foods daily, keeping a food journal to keep track of my triggers. So things will get better sweetie. It just takes patience and time, even with just Diverticulosis you can still get pain and twinges and the antibiotics tear up your gut flora so it all takes time to heal. But if your symptoms worsen go to Dr for sure k. Better safe than sorry, and just also gives you peace of mind. I lived at Dr and ER always afraid of flare up, but just knowing helps the anxiety and the mind . Best wishes and prayers to you. 🤗🌸🙏🙏
