Diverticulosis and Diverticulitis with the constant urge to go to the bathroom

I was diagnosed with uncomplicated Diverticulosis about a month ago following a bout of serious pain in my pelvis region that was intially suspected to be a urinary tract infection. I was diagnosed with the diverticulosis via CT scan.

The pain went away, but I have had diarrhea since then, to varying extents, with a lot of gas and bloating.

However, the worst part of it is that I feel like I constantly need to either pee or poop. It feels like this even immediately after having gone to the bathroom.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've seen a doctor who did not prescribe me antibiotics since I had no fever and the pain was gone. I did not take antibiotics the first time either, as by the time I had seen my doctor, the pain had stopped. He prescribed probiotics to take for a week, Loperamide for the diarrhea, and meteospasm for bloating and gas.

I guess he is assuming that my constant urge to use the bathroom is related to one of these symptoms.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
