DIY cane handle replacement?
Posted , 4 users are following.
I won't be on a cane for at least another month, but have purchased one anyway. It's a pre-loved wooden one (in excellent condition). I do intend to buy one of the new, adjustable ones, but wanted this one so I can decorate it and make something unique.
However, it has a crook handle, which I don't like. Has anyone tried chopping off a crook and replacing it with a more ergonomic handle (it's not a screw-on handle; would need to be sawn off)? Or at least could private message me with a link to an instructional site? I have Googled, but not coming up with what I need to know...

if if you can find out f there is a local guy that makes walking sticks and shepherds crocks he will see you right for a proper handle for your cane. It will be well made safe and secure. These guys know what they are doing. I have a walking stick with a sheeps horn and a wolf carved into it it really is great and your hand won't slip on it in the rain like it can with the plastic or wooden ones.
