Dizziness

Hi,
I'm going to go straight into the issue. Apologies for the essay!
I've just left uni early due to what I would say is dizziness, or more so, feeling 'light-head'
I was in the toilet room about half an hour before it happened where I felt a sharp pain in my left temple. From here, my body began to feel quite sensitive to touch.
When sitting in uni, I had a mildish pain in the back, left hand side of my head. This was followed by light-headedness. I left the room to shake it off as I've experienced passing out before and the feeling felt similar to my 'pre-warnings' and I wasn't about to pass out in a room full of people.
I came back, and sat down, unable to focus, maybe because I was concerned. I read the paper I was supposed to read, began speaking with the girls next to me about it which took my mind off it.
After this, I moved my left leg slightly, it felt slightly numb and couldn't move like I was used to, I could move it, but it was restricted in the same way a slightly numb leg would be. I decided to sit it out, but then when I went to close my mouth I had trouble aligning my jaw, like the top and bottom decided to go different directions.
There came that lightheaded feeling again. Walked to the toilets, had a private cry from feeling frustrated about leaving a room full of people twice, decided that the third time I walk out will be the last so I told my tutor and left
I'm in my bed, but I'm having waves of feeling 'out of it' I guess you could say. Like bursts, like when you're falling to sleep but I'm not falling to sleep, I'm much awake!
It isn't the first time, as last week on the way back from somewhere I became slightly out of it in a way where my balance decided to abandon me, picture a person being shoved slightly and that's what it'll look like. This lasted for 2 minutes where I had to walk slowly to shake it off.
The other day I also had a moment where I looked up from something and had a rush of dizziness to my head where I literally felt like 'whoa'. Also, just to note, my joints are aching too, my shoulders and wrists mainly...
I'll ring the doctors tomorrow and see what they say, need to make an appointment anyway.
There are other things, but not dizziness related. Seems like strange things keep happening to me ;(

Ben here, I live is the states, so things are a little different for me, but I would say you should get into the doctor's office and (short of demanding) keep asking for help. You are obviously suffering from some kind of sickness and they should fall all over themselves trying to help you, and if they don't keep asking and stay in touch until you feel that you have been professionally helped. In other words, don't let them brush you off, make them do the work they have the education and training to do.
Where I live I have the option to go where ever I choose, and if I don't get satisfaction from one place, I go to another. Being polite sometimes allows opportunity for less than scrupulous ( a person or process, diligent, thorough, and extremely attentive to details) behavior to take place, so stand your ground and get answers.
I feel for you, and I sincerely hope someone will take an honest interest in your situation and help you out. Please let us know if you get help that actually helps.
Ben

Ive been much the same now for 2 1/2 years. It started on holiday and has been there ever since. Ive seen ENT consultants, neuro surgeon and now neurologists. Ive had scan and blood tests. It took a year but I finally had a diagnosis of migraine / silent migraine. I was relieved as I thought I had MS but down side is, it wont stop. Ive had lots of different drugs but nothing works. I went to the migraine clinic in Harley st london and they explained what actually happens in your head which helped me cope with it. Theres a big nerve runs thru your face, sinuses, back of eyes, top of head and down the back. Over the top of it is your corrugator muscle. When the corrugator muscle tenses, it can irritate this nerve which gets inflamed. This then causes the weird symptoms that go with it. It depends on which part of the nerve is inflamed as to which part of the brain it affects. Hence the neurological things going on. I had botox which freezes the muscle and lets the nerve heal. It worked and i got rid of a few of the symptoms. But the dizziness stayed. I realised when I found this site, that its more common than you think and lots of people have it. Anxiety makes it a million times worse. But it is scarey being dizzy etc. I also have trouble with lights now, car headlights and lighting in shops like ASDA, B&Q etc. Problems with PC screens and things sound too loud. Apparently thats all connected to silent migraine. Migraine without the headache. But most days I have a dull underlying headache. Some days I get the big giant headache but not often. Ive tried being off work and it seems worse, work takes your mind off it. You need to see the GP though and then a neurologist. Best wishes x
