Dizziness and anxiety for over a year...

Hello guys.. I recently discovered this forum and I thought I could give this a try, maybe someone can help me...Please forgive any grammar mistakes, English is not my native language.

It all started in August 2015 when I had my first ever panic attack after 20 hours of work (I work in my city's port) and I was dehydrated and exhausted... Since it was new to me I didn't know how to react and ever since I was in constant fear of this happening again.

Two months after that I started experiencing dizziness which caused more anxiety.. After a lot of doctors (ENT, Ophthalmologist, neurologist) and an MRI, thankfully there was nothing physical to explain my syptoms. My therapist prescribed Cipralex (10mg/day, Escitalopram) for my anxiety which helped in the long run.

One year later and thank god my anxiety is under control and it rarely occurs. However my dizziness never left. I literally have it every day.

My doctors came to a conclusion that it's psychosomatic because I had bad breakup after 8 years of commitment. However I haven't found anything that helps me deal with it.

Lately it has become worse. I experience light headedness, disorientation and sometimes I can't focus.

It's like my brain doesn't "sync" to the environment but it's late by a second, I can't explain it any better sad

Or, some times I feel that whatever I see around it's simply too much and it causes me to close me eyes to take it all in...

I am sorry for the long post, hope you finished reading it.

Thank you for your time and I appreciate any help/advise.

Alexander

It could be stress but you can also look into Vestibular Migraines. ALso look up SCM muscle issues.

Hi Rita, hope you are well. I think the glasses helped some but i had to stop going since my insurancs does not cover her and visits were expensive. Now i am trying botox as my doctor thinks it may be vestibular migraines. How r u ?

Thank you for your reply.. I did a full work up with my neurologist (actually 2 of them) and they didn;t find anything. The only thing that was weird was when they asked me to do the balance test when you have to lift your thighs while your eyes are closed and yo u are supposed to stay in the same position but I somehow ended in the end of the room :P

I have trouble with constant dizziness as well. Going to stores with to much to look at makes it way worse. I been taking diazepam to deal with it and anxiety from it. It has worked for years but recently it stopped working. Either built up a tolerance or something got worse. Waiting on test results.

    Hi Alexander

I take Cipralex too...same dosage. It helps my anxiety which helps keep my dizziness under control. My GP wants me to stay on it for at least 2 years even though i am feeling pretty good.

I had Vestibular Neuritis for 4 months. I experienced the same symptoms as you. Hopefully it will pass for you as well.

    Good luck

It could be Lyme, Anxiety, ALS, MS or something else I suggest you look at Lyme disease symptoms if most match you should test for it as quickly as possible sometimes the tests aren't accurate so if the symptoms do match test 3 times at 3 different places and if you had a bullseye rash before that's even more proof that you have Lyme disease however most people who get Lyme disease don't report seeing that rash I personally saw it.

I ride a scooter and thank god I haven't had any accident yet... However I took a cab last week and everytime we stopped at a traffic light it was awful. Don't know why. It's like the cab was "vibrating" and it made my dizziness trigger...

I can feel the spin cycle when the cloths washer is going. Does same thing. That slight vibration is bad.
