Hi Donna, have you had all the usual ENT checks for inner ear? Probably worth doing that first to eliminate any problems there. Is everything ok with your blood pressure. I know you can get dizzy problems with menopause so could be hormonal. You don't mention your age. Xx

Hi im 48 and had blood test and blood pressure done a few weeks ago all ok x

It does sound like high BP. If it is hormone related I think it can fall as quickly as it rises. So by the time you get tested, it's back to normal.

BP monitors are not that expensive. If you get one and test yourself when you feel like that, at least it would give you some idea if it is BP or not.

You know what it's like - your car is playing up, but by the time you get to the garage, it's fine and they treat you like an idiot.rolleyes

Sometimes when a person gets dizzy standing up it's from low blood pressure. But you are right-checking the BP is a good start. There are many things that can cause dizzy spells along with ringing in the ears.

I think being checked over by a doctor to rule out either inner ear issues like Mooma's mentioning or BP issues like you mentioned or even low blood sugar for that matter is a great place to start.

Not really symptoms to leave unchecked I would say. Donna, let us know how you get on and hope you feel better quick.

    Hi Donna

Yes I had this quite badly for about two years!! Dizzy, spaced out off balance feeling affected my whole life, kept going back to the GP, fluctuating BP so I had heart scan, 24 hour heart moniter all ok, I figured out for my self (not one doctor mentioned the menopause!!) that I was Peri Meno and started taking B6 and B12 feel 85% better, still get the odd day but nothing like before.

Hope you find somthing that helps

I hope I am on straight progesterone pills the natural on 50mgs hope that did not have anything to do with it. Scares me because my heart rate was racing last night at 2:30A.M. Then after 4 I took my thyroid pill and I get dizzy. I know progesterone can cause heart attacks and strokes in people but I am on a low dose 50mgs so why is it acting up on me

Hi donna, I suffer from this also. I would go to the doctors every time it happened and bp would be fine. I was told it's part of perimenopause and to try and live with it best I can. (Easier said than done ), I panic every time it happens and it happens just about every day. I took b6 and b12 for over a year but I never seen any change in me, so doctor told me to stop taking them.It is starting to have an impact on my life and making me scared to go anywhere I don't need to go. Maybe you'll benefit from taking the vitamins as everyone is different xx

    good luck chick

    xx
