Dizziness and pain in head

I have good days and really bad days for the past 8 months. Started in December when I just caved in while shopping. Went to ER did blood work, CT scan all good. Next morning woke up stretched and room was spinning really bad. Went to ER told me it was vertigo. From that point on I was anxiety ridden. Was terrified to leave hous or drive. Finally had MRI No brain tumor or cancer. After I got the diagnosis anxiety miraculously disappeared. I was told I do have a small vessel issue in my head. Everything was good until My latest episode. I was stretching in bed Sunday and the room started spinning just like back in December but not as bad. Feel like I am back to square one again. Since then when I lay down on either my side or my back my head hurts and I feel dizzy but not room spinning dizzy. This is really scaring me. Does anyone else have this? I can't even imagine what it could be. I had am going for a carotid artery sonogram Thursday. I kinda feel like it is sinus but can't be sure because if I press on my cheek bones I feel relief.

Part of the testing they do when they do a VNG is turn your head and lay down as fast as you can. First to the left. Then right. Tells them if one ear or both are bad. Did it Wednesday. Do a bunch of stuff and record your eye movements. ENTordered it. I know my right ear was way more sensitive. Was told I had bppv years ago but it's got way worse and some symptoms don't fit anymore. Hope the tests tell him more.

Hi, I had your exact symptoms and I was diagnosed with BPPV. I was given medicine for it and while it doesn't exactly cure it it helps to calm the effects. You can do the Epley manuever, which you can find online, that helps treat this symptom. Hope this helps.

I notice from your description that you describe symptoms of vertigo associated always with what you term "stretching". What do you mean by "stretching"? This may be important. Do you lift your arms above your head while lying down?

I've done this and had the room spin. But also yawned same time. Makes my ears pop. If I just stretch it don't make my head spin.

Thank you for your input. I have an appointment for tomorrow if my referral gets approved today but the test is getting done. Will let you know results. The worse part is I love stretching feels like it relieves a lot of tension but now I am a little leery be use I don't feel like dealing with possible dizziness

Hi Dbnetsfan,
I too have this exact feeling...but it all started as a rocky feeling @July 22 morning after taking a bath, one week later I can't take it anymore so I went to see a Doctor, he checked my BP it was 160/90, I guess because of lack of sleep of almost 2 weeks, and coffe every morning, had a lot of stressly lately as well said it was vertigo so he prescribe a 16 mg SERC/Betahistine, it helps a bit, then he also said for a heart workup test (EKG, blood test, urinalysis) but I didn't come back to that GP instead I went to a cardio especialist twice, he said all clear and nothing to worry about my heart, however he increased the dosage of SERC to 24 mg but to be honest I don't think I have vertigo so I stopped taking them 2 weeks after my last checkup.
Now it's been 1/2 months, I feel a bit better I say 85% better than before, however the rocky feeling has gone away but whenever I lay down on the back of my head or side I kinda feel there is a pressure in there...thsi is currently the biggest question mark...
I haven't done any CT scan and MRI yet, so everytime I feel crappy I was thinking of bad things and anxiety starts kicking in real bad and I can feel my heart beat going really fast, making me even more nervous...
I've been hounding my mother about my anxiety and the only way getting a relief is to get the CT scan and MRI test, if this two have a negative/clear results only then I will not worry about anything else.

Anyways have you tried going to an ENT? Also try opthalmologist and have your eyes checked since you're clear in all the other tests this two might probably help you.
Could it be that you're just B12 defecient?
Also try avoid being stressed, avoid food with a lot of sodium it can trigger vertigo.
