Dizziness and ringing in the ear

I have been diagnosed with labyrinthitis two months ago, apart from the diziness and all the balance issues I have been hearing a ringing noise in the right ear ever since. It is a perminent ringing that does not go away. Feels like i'm going mad. Will this ringing noise every go away?

Hi Caleb. Have you suffered any hearing loss along with the ringing? I was told last week that I probably have labyrinthitis. My problems came about due to a cyst behind my eardrum that had to be removed. My ringing is constant. I sleep with a fan on high to help mask the noise. I am getting fitted for hearing aids tomorrow which will also supposedly help with my ringing. It does drive you crazy at first but as time has gone by,  I am handling it a little better. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Mary

you have tinnitus, and once you get  it it does no go away.  I have had it for over 7-8 years now.  you get used to it and don't notice it all the time as time goes on.

You can follow my story if you go to the discussion on pulsative tinnitus and cholesteotoma. My vertigo and dizziness started with an ear infection back in April of this year and I have struggled ever since. I had instant hearing loss and finally had my cyst removed in July. I have been learning to walk and rebalance my system ever since. I have learned that you are your own best advocate and that you can't accept answers that don't feel right for you. It's so very hard, but you have a great support system here. Hang in there. Mary
