Dizziness and vertigo from anxiety?

Hi,

I’ve been experiencing dizziness and vertigo for a few months now. It started with constant tension headaches that usually got better at night or when I was at home relaxing. Anytime I left my house I would feel dizzy. I thought maybe this was some symptom from social anxiety but I went to the doctor any way and told him I was feeling slight numbness on my left cheekbone and pressure in my nose and front of the forehead with tension headaches, dizziness, and vertigo. He thought it had to do with my sinuses after telling him I was also sick with a cold a week before so he sent me to an ENT and I did the CT scan and all but the test came back and there was nothing wrong with my sinuses...my next step is to see a neurologist but I haven’t had medical insurance all year and  I was hoping for someone to tell me that it’s not something to do with my brain because the thought of going to a neurologist gives me more anxiety...I’ve been dealing with anxiety since beginning of this year and my husband and I were also going through a very rough patch and we would get into screaming arguments a lot.  I first noticed the feeling of dizziness about a few months ago. Since then I’ve been working on my anxiety and the headaches have gotten a bit better, they’re not as constant anymore but now this feeling now comes and goes but for the most part I notice it at some point everyday. For the past couple of months I’ve been monitoring this feeling and trying to figure out what triggers it and I’ve noticed that any time my shoulders or neck is tensed up and in pain, it’s accompanied by tension headaches that come and go and also dizziness and faint vertigo. I woke up the other day and my neck was kinked and I tried to massage and stretch it out and even do a cold and hot compress but my neck hurts even more when I woke up today. I can barely tilt my head to my left and I can’t really look over my left shoulder. I feel like the dizziness is stronger last night and today. I’m not sure if it’s all just stress and anxiety related but please someone help! Looking up my symptoms on the internet is also the worst thing I’m doing for my anxiety but I’m desperate to know what’s going on with me.

    Hello akayasayaka

Sounds like its your scm muscles that are causing your symptoms..stress and anxiety cause the muscles in our neck to get tight and that cause those symptoms..look up dr mandel on u tube..he has some great stretches for that..

Thank you for the response🙏🏼 I’ll definitely look them up and try the stretches. Hopefully this will make me feel better.

Neurologist will tell you he's a brain doc. In order to rule out brain trouble he's gonna want a MRI. It will rule out signs of tumours, stroke, etc. Sounds like a trip to a chiropractor would help to.
