Hi everyone, I’m 46 yo, female, suffering from dizziness and vomiting, blurred vision, loosing balance. GP said, vertigo, ENT seen and thinks labyrinthitis. Waiting for MRI brain and neck. Just started betaserk but not helping yet. I miss my life before. I’m completely down, can’t do anything. Please any advice.

Were you sick recently? Or been on a plain/boat? Can you drive ok or go to grocery shops or crowded loud places? Was told I had labs bavk in march and still dealing with some symptoms. Never had nausea bease my vertigo is more of the swaying back and forth kind. Vision issues were bad though. Couldn't focus properly, brain fog, off balance, no energy etc. It's terrible, but your not alone. I had all the testing done and everything came clear. Working on my stress and anxiety because this crap really amped it up. I only take those bentahistamine pills when needed. Don't find they work.

Thank you for your support. I’m sorry that you dealing with all that too.

I haven’t been on plane or boat, it started suddenly. I woke up with dizziness and came up vomiting, blurred vision.  I’m just in bed, then up a bit but my balance is worse, can’t drive, shopping . I have been in A&E and Blood tests and CT scan came clear.

I’m experiencing dizziness only when I turn my head to the right direction. Most horrible is nausea, which is all the time.  In the night I’m having numbness in my hands. I can’t sleep properly.

Have you tried prochloperazine, was it helpful for you?

My anxiety these days is worse then ever.

Sorry to hear you're having a grim time.

Probably a long shot but have you tried chewing gum? I've had fierce dizziness with regular nausea for just over a year. All tests carried out but no conclusive diagnosis.

I realised recently that my symptoms ease while I'm eating, so now I chew gum from when I get up to when I go to bed and while I do, my symptoms are virtually non existent. I have absolutely no idea why this works and neither do my GP, my ENT consultant or my neuro consultant but hey ho, it's effective and it's way cheaper than meds.

Trouble is, my symptoms return less than a minute after I stop chewing - and my jaws ache!

      Hope this helps.

do you have any digestion issues like non working gallbladder, gallstones ,etc ? i have all the issues that you mentioned .It all started with gallbladder pain.

I haven't tried that med. Trying not to take anything unless I really need it. I've had an mri on my neck also, in which they found a bit of spinal stenosis, so started physio last yr and it did wonders.

But this dizzyness stuff came back this yr, amd I do continue physio, but it doesn't help the dizzyness symptons. Just my headaches when my neck flares up.

Maybe see if yoy can get a neck mri and see if something is being pinched. I read up on something called bow hunters syndrom. Where it's has to do with people getting dizzy when neck is turned a certain way. Also, have you been tested for bppv?

You are geniussmile I’m having all that symptoms- Bow hunters syndrome.  Because as soon as turn my has to right like I’m having electric shock and falling dizzy which is lasts all day or night.

That’s good you dealing well with your situation.  You are so supportive. Good luck and feel better and better.

Thank you. I haven’t try chewing gum. It is interesting. It is understandable that your jaw ache but good without horrible symptoms. I wish I have my life back without vertigo symptoms.

check  for the binacular vision dysfunction, you might need to be checked out for that, if you have a simple prescription eye glasses will help solve the anxiety, dizziness , blurred vision  and vertigo symptoms.

This is how mine started 2 years ago.  Have they checked for crystals dislodged?   They can do that thru a physical therapy department that works with vestibular disorders.  That is your  next step after being cleared they MRI.  No meds have helped me.  Mine started as inner ear viral infection.   I fight feeling like I’m on a boat daily!

Find a good vestibular PT for help.
