Dizziness, anxiety, insomnia

Does anyone suffer from chronic insomnia and anxiety and dizzy spells, muscle spasams. I'm so discourage but at the same time hopeful because I know God will give me the strength. I went to doc. yesterday and was put on citalopram 10 mg for anxiety and depression and taking zolpidem for sleep. Im hoping I can get back on track. I was on citalopram about 2 years ago but weaned off them because I was doing better, I have no idea what happened. Also, about 2 years ago I had a full hysterectomy because of fibroids. Anybody experiencing the same symptoms?

You don't know how happy to hear those encouraging words. Everyone I've told think that it's in my head. Except my husband. How long did you go through it? I don't like taking medication but at this point I'm hopeful it'll bring me some relief.

Sarah, when you say a full hysterectomy, you mean you also had your ovaries removed?  How old are you and what was your menopause status?

Even in menopause, your ovaries do push off some estrogen.  And yes, many women have poor sleep, dizziness and anxiety with menopause.

Ovaries and uterus removed because of fibroids. I was having periods with clots for about 6 years. I'm 49 years old bit had it done at 47 years of age.

Sarah, that's awfully young to have everything removed without any replacement.  Since you were still having periods with lots of clots, that indicates higher estrogen with a very low level of progesterone to counter it's actions.  As well as the fact that fibroids are fed by estrogen.

      Would you consider some replacement?

At the rate I'm going probably so. I guess I have to request blood work so they can check my hormone levels. I'm just wondering how long before a person's body gets adjusted without hormones.
