Dizziness, head, neck and upper shoulder pain

Hi

I don't know if anyone can help, but I really need it.  My ENT says i have vestibular dysfunction, whatever that is?  I am suppose to start VRT in march.  I don't know what type of dysfunction I have.  All Iknow is days out of every week I get this headache, that comes immediately with dizziness that lasts for hours and days and neck pain and upper shoulder pain and extreme tightness on both shoulders.  The head pain goes up into the forhead over my eyes and alsway on both sides.  The worst is this dizzienss, i've had this now for 8 months, it feels like I'm rocking or swaying, when I walk sometime i feel as if im walking on marsh mello's.  I'm am so sick of this crap, every day there is some type of dizziness, I honestly don't know how much more i can take.  When it first happened in july last year, I had an eply did nothing, so I went the ENT and he did VNG test and said vestibular dysfunction.  I've beent to GP, neuorologist who did trigger point injection,  now i'm seeing a atlas orthogenal chiro who has been adjusting the C1.

I don't know what to do next.  I am so sick of all this, i'm very frustrated and angry becuase I can't even move without having this dizziness, swaying rocking thing.  I'm about to explode.  I had to leave work today because of the neck, head and shoulder pain with the dizziness, it scares me so much that I went into panic and thought i was going to pass out.

My life is becoming so limited, I have no interest in doing anything, I'm so afraid of the dizziness, the only thing I do is go to work because I have to.

Does anyone else have this type of dizziness and any help.

Thanks

Patty

Hi. If I were you I would look info migraine associated vertigo. Your symptoms sound very much like this. Need to figure out how to control the migraines which shld reduce and hopefully stop the dizziness. Amitriptyline can be used I think but chk w your dr. I was having migraines and that med helped me. I believe they want you on 30mg for migraine prevention. Also try to follow a migraine diet.

      HI

Thank you so much for your help.  I kind of thought this is what is was, and myENT mentioned it but after the VNG test he said vest dysfunction.  I  am no schedule to see him again until April, maybe I should call  and see about seeing him before that.

      Thank you for your reply.

If it is then VRT should help. Just will take commitment to doing the exercises every day. The headaches sound like migraines but maybe they are tension ones. It's good you are looking into any neck issues too. Best of luck!

I don't know the VNG results, I guess I should get a copy of that.  I have been a bit worried about the VRT, as I've read it takes a long time and it causes more dizzinesss, and dizziness is my worst anxiety symptom. But I will be doing it because I don't want to live like this.

      Thanks for your help

Sounds like your doing all the correct things and sounds like MAV ( migraines/ vertigo! Don't do away the Epley as it didn't work for me a few times and ended up flying to another state ( Sydney ) get go into the omniax chair and that helped me a great deal ! Find a Balance Clinic that specialises in vertigo and kick start the process again - they specialise in vistibular areas which most doctors in all fields do not! Your not alone in this believe me and as I always stress this is the top 10 miss diagnosed conditions! Where are you living - close to which major city ????

I live in Florida, I'm seeing a dizzy research ENT and he has written a couple of books about dizziness also.  I saw him years ago when I had BPPV and he helped me.  I have read the VRT is no fun and takes a while, so Ive been a bit afriad of it.  THis dizzy crap is for the birds, I would wish this on anyone.  Its been my worst health anxiety symptom and I've had a few.  Thanks so much for your reply.
