Dizziness is doing so much better!

I have been dizzy for over four months. I have been seeing a physical therapist for about three weeks and I am feeling so much better! I go 2 to 3 times a week. I actually have many good days and some were I have felt completely normal. It is such a blessing to be feeling better. If it wasn't for this site I would have never gone to a physical therapist who specializes in neck pain and dizziness.

Also because I have been feeling better I don't have the need to come on this site as much as I used to. I came on here desperate to find answers and for the moral support so to the people who supported me thank you! A kind word can go far. I have actually been suicidal from the dizziness ruining my life. Dizziness so bad you can't get away from it. I pray for everyone who has dizziness you find answers as to why and stay strong.

My physical therapist thinks that a vertebrae in my neck was pushing on the nerves in my neck. That can cause dizziness and light headed feeling. If I roll my shoulders I feel it tense in the back of my neck and it causes all my symptoms to come back. Also I get a heavy head feeling and I do exercises to strengthen the main muscle in my neck. I can't remember the name of the muscle. But everything at physical therapy is helping me and I am so thankful.

Hi! Are you doing VRT and neck massages? Would you mind sharing what exercises you're doing? THanks!

She pushes on the vertebreas in my neck with her fingers and gently pulls my head. My first appointment with her I was so dizzy and I had very little hope she was going to help. She did very little ony first appointment. Now I am doing neck strengthening exercises on my home.

I am so glad you feel better. I suppose you have been doing gaze stabilization exercises, as I have.

The do help so much but I would like to be rid of this thing all together.

    I get better

to a point where I feel almost normal and then it

    comes back, then it

    does it all again.

I wish an expert could explain why!

I don't do gaze exercise. Certain things make my dizziness come back like going to the park and looking at the millions of littles rocks on the ground or I went to a birthday party and the kids had to be spun around for a game and I couldn't watch it. I had to walk away. I don't want my dizziness to come back so if I feel like I have to protect my eyes I do. Also if I get super stressed out I get dizzy. I take half a lorazapam and it goes away. I am getting my life back. I took my boys to the park twice and taking them to ride their bikes. Compared to just sitting all day or being in my bed because I was so dizzy.I love being a mom. It is a big job and trying to be a mom and being dizzy all day is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

    Hi maria

What were your symptoms when you started getting this dizziness? on top of my neck pain I also suffer from migraines and vertigo. But I have been going to physical therapy for about 4 months but I still feel dizzy. Are you taking medication along as well?

    Hello Mariasunshine

What exercises are you doing at home?

I have had vertigo off and on since November of last year.

I have days where I feel like I have my life back and I can play with my grandchildren. Then there are the bad days where I feel off balance with a little dizziness and I just want to stay in bed. I do notice that my neck at times pops really loud.

Very glad that you have found something that works for you. 🌻🌻

Yes me too. I actually went hiking for 3 hours today for the first time in four months. I have a problem with my heart and I went unconscious four months ago and I was in the hospital for three days getting stabilized. I have had to work hard to get to this point. When I left the hospital I left severely dizzy. My cardiologist thinks my low blood pressure caused my dizziness. So I take salt tablets and metatroplol. I worked my legs every single day because I could not stand for 30 seconds. Then I saw a neurologist who thought migraines were causing my dizziness and I refused the medication she wanted to give me. Then I saw a ENT doctor who told me to go back to my cardiologist. Then I found this site and I decided to try a specialist who works with neck pain and dizziness. I have more to write but my dinner is done. Have to feed the kids smile
