Dizziness off balance feeling for 3 months

Hello all

I don’t normally post on things like this but I’m running out of answers.

So I’m a 24 year old male who has been suffering with an off balance feeling since around late may early June and I work in front of a computer screen all day and look at my phone pretty constantly.

So a little background on when this started I had been dealing with swollen hip for the past couple of months that I had put off going to see a doctor for and finally went on June 1 and had no symptoms of dizziness and such then. She ordered a blood text, X-ray and ultrasound. The blood test and xray  both came back with no problems but the ultrasound discovered that I had a fatty liver which I have now been getting tests done on that but was told by a gastro I had nothing to worry about and have a fibroscan next week. I have also stopped drinking as much as I had been before as I was drinking maybe 3-4 beers per night before I got the fatty liver diagnosis but drinking does kind of help my problems until I wake up in the middle of the night with dizziness. I have really cut downon the drinking however.

While in this time around after this week of may I had been feeling a little dizziness that I had attributed to ear wax buildup which I have always had and always had my mom syringe it with a bulb syringe and think this is what may have caused all these issues of dizziness now. I have however been going to the chiropractor since April because my back had been bothering me since I had just started a desk job this January. I get the feeling when I am sitting I front of the computer or on my phone and I get it when I stop my car but don’t get it when we are moving unless we are making a sharp turn. I had ridden roller coasters Memorial Day weekend before I had went to my first doctor appointment and it was in the rain so I am not sure if I got an infection from that.  So I had been going to her for awhile and it was helping my back ache because I think I’ve had bad posture but she had also been cracking my neck also. I decided to start seeing a different chiropractor to see if that would help the dizziness off balance feeling but to no avail it hasn’t done anything.

I have gone to multiple urgent cares and was told by the first one it is anxiety which I do have now from this and was anxious about finding out about my hip at first. I went again to a second one and was told it was vertigo and had taken an EKG which had come back alright. and was prescribed meclazine and said I was having an ear infection and got an antibiotic and nothing has really helped. This time I was referred to an ENT who said it wasn’t an inner ear thing was I went to see him and it’s just leaving me with more questions then answers.

I am getting very anxious and depressed about all this and have called into my job twice and left many times to go to doctors appointments and such and am running out of answers. I have been sleeping alright but get up at around 4:30-5 every morning not being able to go back to sleep with cold sweats and racing heart.

I have been researching everything online and can’t put a finger on what’s been going wrong and it’s not a constant thing during the day like it goes away after I have eaten something and when I go and relax at night. So I am not sure if it is anxiety causing all this put my neck and upper back are really tight now and was thinking about seeing another chiro in my area that deals with dizziness on a consistent basis. My parents and girlfriend no longer want to listen to me complaining about it and they both say I look normal and they think it is all anxiety because I have gotten anxious before.

I am sorry that this is kind of jumbled in writing but I tried to get everything out there.

I have to add that she also spotted stretch marks on my stomach when I first went to the doctor and I got very worried about that to do I think I am pinpointing this all on anxiety but I don’t know if it would cause my right ear to feel strange and my eyes to not focus.

Hello, I too have same symptoms but since april. Still doing tests but have had mri ct blood ent eye doc x2 etc. This crap does cause eye issues. I too had waking up a few times where I felt like my sugar dropped and blood was in my feet. Racing heart amd sweats. It's terrible!! But believe me, your Def not the only one woth this. My difference was not being abLe to drive because it bothered my eyes too much. Walking felt like I was on a cloud. It has gotten better, but anxiety has made it worse. The racing heart and sweats at night is Def part of the anxiety and caused panicky symptoms. Even heavy chest. I've just learned to understand thats what it is, amd even though it is TERRIBLE when it's happening, it does go away. Mins actually gotten a lot better at night because I know what it is. Nobody wants to hear me talk about it anymore either. This is where I came too also. Sooo many people have this woth no answers except for the fact their tests come clear. Which is great, but no answers still.

Thanks for the reply. It does get better most nights when I’m lying on my back and feel relaxed. I can see that I am not the only one with this but I have scared the crap out of myself thinking it’s something like a cancer or some sort but I keep telling myself I would probably have headaches and feel worse. I try to have 2 good days in a row but it just doesn’t seem to happen.

try and go to a cervical chiropractor not a regular chiropractor there is a difference. Your C1 and C2 might be out of place. Google C1 and dizzy and see the results.

Thanks I will look more into that. I had looked that up to see if that was the case and the chiros that I have seen haven’t really done anything but crack my neck from side to side.  I have noticed if I massage in that area with my fingers it kind of helps. I feel like it has something to do with working on the computer everyday now that I wasn’t doing before. I crack my shoulder area all the time it seems now so it might all be out of line.  Thanks for the advice

I go to physio for my neck amd I prefer them wayyy over chiro. Not a fan of the cracking. And sometimes they cause dizzyness. If you can, give physio a go, especially if mastage is helping it. He did wonders for me.

      Hi smithy

Just seen your post. I have struggling with lightheaded feeling And like you I have just started having sport massages, well only one so far but I have appointment next week.

Just wondering how yours went, as in did it take a few sessions to start feeling better? I do ha e a bad neck so hoping this feeling might be connected to that. I really don’t like the idea of a chiro cracking my neck so think hoping massage will work as well

      Thanks for advice

You are not alone.  I have been having issues everyday all day long for 2 years.  Main diagnosis was inner ear viral infection and should be better in 3-6 months!   NOT.     Been to specialist and still same answer.  I feel like I am on a boat all the time!    If you have had ear wax issues I would suggest finding someone to do ear candling on you.   I know it may sound weird but they get the excess wax out. This may help some. Also go to a good massage therapist that deals with neck issues.   Good luck.  The most important part is keep a positive attitude and not let this ruin your life.  I look normal as people put it but my life is anything but normal with this dizziness.  I am so thankful for my husband who saw the abrupt change in me two years ago and had stuck by my side!   Knowing I’m off balance will make sure to take my hand!!

I have similar symptoms going on, but I'm much older at age 66. I've had dizziness and balance problems for maybe 1-1/2 months now. Dr. said it was because of "loose crystals" in my head and gave me exercises (Epley) to do for my vertigo. I'm not any better and getting a bit worse; I would say I'm "moderate" and not "mild" any longer. I'm not able to go about my usual plans, but am staying at home most of the time!  I also experience plugged ears/head, tingling back of head once in a while, and fatigue. I did see an ENT and the dr. recommended vestibular tests and a brain mri, which you may need to consider also.  I'm going to see another dr. for a 2nd opinion on everything before I proceed.

I would see if your regular doctor can sent you to Physical therapy that has the tests they can do for crystals.   Unfortunately mine was not the crystals.  The PT can help with the correct maneuvers and can see what your eyes are doing thru a screen and the goggles you wear
