Dizziness / unsteadiness feeling

I hope someone, somewhere can shed some light on my problem so apologies if it is quite a long extract. For over a year now I experience what i call 'attacks' or 'funny turns'. Out of the blue i can suddenly get more of an unsteady feeling rather than a 'spinning' dizziness feeling. It can happen anytime, when i am sitting down or standing. I had an MRI scan last November apart from a calcified menigioma which they found (apparently this is nothing to worry about) they put it down to migrainous dizziness. I will probably have another MRI later in the year as a follow up. I am just so confused as to why i get this feeling and what could be causing it. I've thought of everything from MS to heart problems etc I've had lots of blood tests and ECG etc and it doesn't seem to be heart related. Does anyone else have similar symptoms?

Googled balance disorders, heart disorders, dizziness, ear disorders like Menteres disease in the hope I can pinpoint my symptoms but so far have not come up with a solution. I just can't bear the thought of being told 'there's nothing wrong'.

Been following your discussion with Trevis. An MRI would definitely have picked up a stroke. I had one 3 years ago and now, recently, Vertigo and Dizziness. I can relate to your symptoms, but in addition it disrupts me at night. This morning I woke at 4am and had to get up. Agree it is very debilitating. I have been prescribed Betahistine, which helps to a certain extent. I have come to the conclusion there is no cure, we just have to manage to the best extent possible. Sorry to hear Trevis relate the experience with the doctor, mine was fairly sympathetic, understands the condition. I've had blood tests, which show I have an underactive thyroid, which I believe is quite common for people suffering with this.
Hope you resolve your issues soon
Best wishes Pauline
