Dizziness wisdom teeth?

Posted , 18 users are following.

Hello I have been struggling with dizziness, fatigue and intermittent severe left-sided headaches for approx 10 months. I have a left side lymph node just behind jaw/under ear that is almost always swollen and persistent inflammation (improves and worsens on different days) in left ear, left tonsil and left sinus.

I struggle to walk more than 1.5 miles due to dizziness and have had to stop driving even though it's an essential part of my job. ENT says no major ear issue. I have an impacted wisdom tooth on left side and saw on this forum that could cause dizziness? Or any other ideas? I've bounced between specialists all year and no one knows.

Good morning have you had your wisdom teeth removed yet? I only grew one wisdom tooth. Impacted for about 8 years and last 6 years suffered with ear pain on that same side to point where I cannot sleep one it. I lost hearing on that same side and have suffered from dizziness and even failed the dizzy test they do. Gratefully heading came back ?? which is odd because it normally doesn’t restore ?? especially without treatment in which I couldn’t have because I’m allergic to medication for it. Anyhow I just had my tooth out and already feel less pressure I ended up with dry socket and I noticed a little dizziness but not bad. I’m hoping that this is problem solved to all the weird issues I been occurring. I also in my late 30’s and though I menopause but tests all came back fine. I will keep you posted on any changes I’m very hopeful it was the issue all along.

      Hi Jennifer,

All 4 of my wisdom teeth came through. I have now had 1 tooth removed from the main area of concern and I think it has helped a bit but I also get pain in the jaw joint area sometimes maybe it is tmj. I also got diagnosed CFS so think that was main cause of my dizziness and exhaustion. Hope you continue feeling better.

I experienced chronic fatigue syndrome at one point during perimenopause. Since I didn't know what to do I started taking a vegetarian multivitamin and that took it away actually and it was really good because I regained my strengthback, I was told to also take large dosed of vitamin d3, this also helped. This is why I recommend it to a lot of the women here to buy a vegetarian multivitamin and to take what is referred to as the Sunshine pill, vitamin d3.

Thankyou, I appreciate your effort to help but I do not have the symptoms listed on medical sites for perimenopause and I’m in my early 30s too with regular periods, no hot flushes, no trouble sleeping, no bladder issues etc. I do take a multivitamin and d3 so I think I have a different issue to you.

    Hi,

I have had this exact symptom since getting sick with glandular fever about 10 months ago. Examinations shows no ear issue or inflamed wisdom tooth, it is definitely a reactive lymph node and perhaps some nerve in that area that is inflamed. I has been aching on and off since falling sick with glandular fever along with dizzy spells and shooting headaches on that same side.  I just read a post that you wrote in the mono forum a while back which then brought me to this post. I would love to know how you are feeling now and if you have completely recovered?

      Hi Isabelle,

Sorry to hear you’ve been suffering the same symptoms.  I have managed to reduce the number of left-sided headaches since being diagnosed with TMJ - the most useful advice was to never touch teeth together while eating! I realised sometimes I clenched them without realising.   On the post-viral Fatigue/CFS side - I wish I could give you better news but although I’ve progressed several times I’ve also had some really bad relapses. This has partly been caused by other sources of stress in my life and things but the best advice I’d give is don’t keep pushing yourself to do more than you can comfortably manage, even if that is only a little bit. I’ve made myself much worse by keeping pushing myself too much, also relaxation strategies and good diet etc help.

      Wishing you luck in recovering

I think it’s the cause I’m going to get my wisdom tooth pulled soon and I feel like it’s a major cause

Hi , last year in March I started feeling sick and having vertigo really bad. Brain fog, feeling detached. It was like I couldn't see myself in the mirror, I could see myself but was like I was constantly in a day dream like state. Extremely scary, caused severe anxiety. All blood work, ultrasounds, MRIs and CTs clear and normal. I even went to get checked for STDs even though I only been with my husband. Everything normal. Only thing abnormal is my impacted wisdom teeth that are growing in sideways. I have an appointment to get them extracted tomorrow but I'm so scared I want to cancel appointment.

      Hi,

Wondering if you have had your wisdom teeth removed yet and if it helped? I have had the same exact symptoms and would love to know if this could be a possible cause/solution.

@rosie34970 - hello! i know this is an old thread but I figured I'd ask anyway. I share some of the symptoms with you (headaches, swollen lymph node behind my right ear) in addition to a few other symptoms - worsening vision in right eye, right side pain in upper and lower molars without an obvious dental problem except wisdom teeth. The teeth themselves don't hurt but there's intermittent severe ache in teeth and sometimes toward the jaw joint. I have seen at least a dozen of Drs: ENTs, neurologists, allergist, ophthalmologist, oncologist, dentists, oral surgeons, TMJ specialist. MRI and CT scan show nothing except small prominent lymph nodes. Doctors aren't worried but I am. Since there's seemingly nothing wrong with me (although i know there's something going on), I started thinking about wisdom teeth. I was wondering if you went through with the wisdom teeth removal and if it helped you with your symptoms? Appreciate if you could provide any feedback:)

      Hi Lanas

I started having these symptoms over 2 months ago as we all, reading this entire thread brought me to tears because I'm not alone and I too went to my pcp twice and then doing massive research learned it could be wisdom teeth as the cause. I have a consultation on Tuesday March 3rd and will be getting my 1 and only wisdom tooth surgically removed. I will update you a few days after I heal to see if all symptoms have resolved. My nightmare started on Jan 1st, I had a searing headache and have been dizzy everyday since then. After my second trip to my pcp I had throbbing pain in my head and nose so she gave me antibiotics which caused my severe dizziness to become just lightheadedness but a few days after I finished my rx the dizziness started to return so I decided to go to my dentist. I asked what side my wisdom tooth was on because I knew I only had 1 and when they told me the left side a light bulb went off in my head. My dentist prescribed me more antibiotics and muscle relaxers and wanted me to follow up with her when I was due for my cleaning in a MONTH, I left and upon leaving I decided not to wait. I called an oral surgeon immediately and had my dentist send them an xray and they set up my consultation. I'm so ready for this nightmare to end, I haven't felt like myself in two months and I am very in tune with myself and body so this has literally been the worst 2 months of my life. I am 35 years old and this will be my first surgery, I have bad anxiety but I can't wait for them to get this wisdom tooth out! I will be sure to come back and give you all an update, nobody deserves to go through this and it seems like the wisdom teeth in this thread was the common denominator which only gives me hope that this will put an end to my nightmare. I hope that others find this as well and find peace that we so desperately deserve!

      hi Robin.

I am going through the same thing right now.

I was wondering if removing the wisdom tooth relived your symptoms?
