Dizzy 6 weeks after gallbladder surgery

Posted , 6 users are following.

I have been dizzy 6 weeks after my gallbladder surgery. I now have decent energy levels and no diarrhea for the past 4 days. My blood work comes back normal except for B12 at 320 and Vitamin D at 20.4. I have good blood pressure and not even close to having diabetes. Why am I dizzy. I had no symptoms what so ever related to dizziness before surgery. I have been dizzy every since I woke from surgery. Anyone know what this could be? My PCP seems stumped.

Hello, I know b12 can be a big factor in dizziness. And maybe with that being off and surgery, sometimes our bodies can take a while to readjust. Maybe wait another week or 2 and see if yoy have improvement, and if not, try a b12 supplement for a bit.

I've been taking 1000mcg suppliment for 4 weeks. I also had an injection last week. I wonder if I'm not absorbing the suppliment with pantoprozole I've been taking for acid. I also have some shakes, numbness and coordination issues that came up in the past couple days. 5 hours after the injection of B12 I felt perfect. But it only lasted 1-2 hours.

I wonder if they can give you another blood test for b12 to see if you actually are absorbing it. Especially if the direct shot worked. My mother had a blood est done when she started a certain med, amd it showed she wasn't absorbing it. Antacids (if thats what yoy mean) can really do a number on many different meds/vitamins. My mom wasn't allowed to take any except tums etc for acid/heartburn. If yoy type your antacid in on google, there's a site that shows you which med/vitamins react with them. It may just be that you need to switch something up so tour absorbing the b12.

I no longer have a B12 issue. Blood test came back. My values is over 1000. I am 7 weeks after the surgery and still dizzy. I also have tremors and some loss of fine motor skills. I am extremely stressed out and have tons of anxiety. I also have a retracted ear drum and have bee told I have a blocked estation tube. Perhaps that's why I'm dizzy. I've been doing Flonase and Claritin for the ears for a week. I hope it's the anxiety giving me the tremors and fine motor skills loss. Otherwise, I'm convinced I have a brain tumor.

I had a CT scan to rule out brain tumor , stroke etc. If your havin anxiety about that, go to local emerge and have one done right away. It's not worth the stress. Believe it or not, anxiety is a huge factor, but I don't like to believe it's the only factor. It's an easy way out for docs in my mind. The ear issues is huge for balance. Can you get a refferal to a dizzy balance clinic? I go tmrw for all my tests. About 80 mins worth. They are vestibluar tests, and test my eyes, ears and balance. I wear certain machines that monitor all these things to pick up any negative issues. I had a hearing and ear pressure test done last week, and my ears were a bit off, hence the next tests, and because I told the doc there about my swaying and eye issues..I do believe all your tests will come back clear, it's just getting to the right specialist for this stuff. Vestibular rehab therapy might help you also. Google it or look it up on youtube. There are exercises tou can do to help....and facebook if your on it, has a vestibluar group wjere all kinds of people suffer with this crap...I hope you find something soon, but try and live life amd take the good days with bad....this stuff certainly sucks.

Yoy can also be referred to a neurologist. They can do a number of tests also. A nerve conduction test, and balance disorders. I have a nerve conduction test coming up due to spinal stenosis in my neck, but my physio has been helping me with that. I'm in ontario canada, so have access to most of these specialists. They are not all the greastest to deal with that's forsure, but non the less, I'm starting to get to the right people. I've been trying since mid march when this started..
