Dizzy from eye dilation

I had a "bizarre" experience yesterday. My eyes were dilated for an eye exam. Even 9 hours after the dilation I did not feel okay. I had a sense of nausea, slight dizziness, and queasiness similar to what happens after a vertigo attack. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi Naomi68931

I too had the same problem. Every time my eyes were dilated by an optometrist I had sever dizzy spells and all the other symptoms you have mentioned. I mentioned it to the optometrist and they said that it was a reaction with eyes and ears.

After that, he made a note on my chart and from then on he did dilate my eyes but used something else which was not as strong. I never had a problem again with eye exams.

So do mention it next time...they can still check your eyes without you having to go through the suffering!

    Take care.
