Yep! I had dizziness for about 3 or 4 months last year. Went to my Dr cus I thought I had vertigo. It was almost everyday, felt like I was on a boat and swaying all the time. Sooo annoying. But I noticed that it would go away when I was distracted, and it got worse when I focused on it... and that's what lead me to realize it was just anxiety related. Bc if it was something wrong, it wouldn't lessen or go away, it would stay and it would get worse. But mine definitely lessen/disappeared when I was distracted.

    • Do you get the head rush feeling too? I HATE that feeling. Like I'll be totally fine and all of a sudden WHOOSH and I feel like I'm gonna fall over. Lasts like 2 sec but it would scare the crap out of me!

Philly, no head wooshes for me yet. Just be doing something and room sort of spins, I guess. Hard to explain, if im working on computer, it starts to hmm sway and move and I feel like I'm gonna pass out. My whole body freezes and I have to move... had one hot flash after a bad one last week and that started the panic attacks. A chair gripping, terrifying one..now i feel im waiting for them to come, which i know doesnt help.

      Hi Philly89,

I definitely can confirm to the head rushes too. I will be sat at my work desk and 'whoosh' - it's like being in an elevator that has dropped suddenly. Can I ask if you know what this is ? and why do we experience them ? They make me scared of suddenly passing out whilst sat on my desk !

I'm not really sure what causes it, but it definitely is anxiety related bc it only happens to me when I'm overly anxious lol. Maybe it's blood rushing to our head due to an adrenaline spike or something like that?

I get the same feeling on the PC that the room is swaying. I get nervous sometimes driving bc it feels like I'm swaying in the car also, and I start to get panicky that it'll get worse and I'll crash or something

Yes, I have the same fear when driving home from work, do not feel comfortable at all. When traffic is moving no problem - if I have to stop at all I will start to feel the dizziness.

Re: the head rushes - yes I only seem to experience them either at work, or when I return home shortly after work. It takes about 2/3 hours after returning home that I start to feel 'normal' again. I have however felt the head pressure in other situations - usually when surrounded by people I don't like or uncomfortable around.

Makes me want to stay in bed and that makes things even worse.

klove....you're SO lucky to have access to xanax! how do you find. a doctor who's willing to prescribe such? ESPECIALLY if you've no history of abusing them! I'm getting so tired if hitting a wall when it comes to an empathetic doctor!

Hello, I have been experiencing severe dizziness and unsteadiness for almost a year. It's honestly the worst thing ever. I constantly feel like I'm about to have a seizure or something horrible. I've had a CT scan, MRI, and tons of blood work and everything comes back normal. I'll feel good for a few weeks then it all comes back again.....

sounds like we are all on the same boat its been going on for 10 months with me. I've had so many tests done and seen so many doctors only one I still have to follow up with is the endo so check hormones, vitamins, minerals, etc... That will probably be normal too like everything else and im apparently just a nut job.... VERY FRUSTRATING.

Yep I'm another one, been having dizzy feelings for about a year now. Been to ENT, can't find anything. I get tinnitus all the time too. I take anxiety meds.

Randy, it's terrible and just terrifies me. Because this has only been around 6 days for me happening on and off,I cant really say if the medicine works. I've taken it twice and fall asleep relaxed pretty fast so I cant tell. I'll have to stay awake next time. 10 months?? ugh. Any other symptoms?

along with the dizziness (and that's somewhat mild), I have this feeling of when I'm stepping on each foot, it almost feels as though I'm walking on a sponge....it's hard to describe but that's the best I can do, like the ground beneath me is "squishy"! Does that make sense? has anyone else experienced this?

    • Posted

I get that spongy feeling in my feet Lynda. I feel like my feet are not on the ground...I usually stamp hard on the ground,to try to make it go away..I also feel like am going to fall, when I walk..oh this anxiety is horrible...I can relate to every post here...x
