Dizzy spell and fell over getting out of bed. Constant dizziness since

Hello
Just over a year ago, I got out of bed, was incrediably dizzy and fell over. It felt like I had been spinning around.
Since then I get a swaying feeling, like on a boat, whenever I walk.
I do suffer with awful anxiety and this is what my GP puts it down to.
It is ruining my life- I have got myself into a state and now cannot leave the house by myself.
Any ideas on what is going on?
My GP seems to put any symptom I have down to dizziness.
Thank you for reading this.

Hi
I was recommended to buy a balance pad.
Well, would you believe it, popped into Lidl yesterday, and boom, right in front of me in the "specials" was a balance cushion! £4.99!

But I did have ear pain after.
I had to march on the spot with my eyes closed and arms stretched out. I moved quite a bit forward and to the left. I wa so surprised how far Id moved that when I walked one foot in front of the other, I couldnt do it even though Id been practising at home. I think my anxiety took over there.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Well, it doesn't sound like BPPV if the Dix-Hallpike was negative for both sides, but obviously it could be all kinds of other things, none of them necessarily all that serious. I don't know what the ear pain would have been, but it would seem to indicate the problem is in your ear and not your brain. What, if anything, did Dr. S tell you? Maybe he'll discuss it with you more fully when you go back to his balance clinic. At the kind of rates he's charging, it sounds as if he should be discussing the diagnosis directly with you rather than just reporting to your GP!
When the physio did my D-H on Wednesday, it produced a very pronounced result on the R-hand side, and I know I have BPPV. I could actually feel my eyes going and he got very excited about it. He had two students with him and I suspect he'd been waiting for a classic BPPV case to show them the nystagmus, because he was saying: "Wow! Look - this is a really good one". While I was lying there feeling violently sick, with my stomach feeling like I was in a plane that had dropped into a 5-second airpocket of course... I'm glad he was happy! Still, I suppose students have to learn.
I'm sure Dr. S will get to the bottom of it, whatever it is. No need to get anxious.

He said I had left side peripheral vestibular deficit and ocasional BPPV as I have had a couple of spinning espisodes.
I have to be referred by the GP so to get help on the NHS.
Hope you are well today

It's ok i found it, well lots of them! I'll,ask my Bowen lady when i go back end of month to see what she thinks. I wont use anything until i,check with her as dont want to 'put anything out', or make things worse.

Yes, good idea to check.
I must say the kids are having a great time on it - they have superb balance.

They are doing weird yoga poses.
It does make me feel better that hubby wobbles about on it too.
I think small feet are better!
