Dizzy when sitting or laying :-(

Does anyone else get dizzy or feel like they are going to fall over even if they are already sat down or laying in bed?

This is how my dizzyness is, it doesn't matter if I'm sitting standing or laying no matter what the dizzyness is coming in waves, I could be fine one minute and the next caught completely off guard and my head just goes whoosh then I start sweating, I really don't know what it is or what's causing it, all I know is that it's stressing me out big time, I'm worried sick that something horrible is going on! I've been to the docs numerous times and fobbed off the same amount of times, I just feel so poorly with it, yes I'm stressed, yes I'm tired (I have 2 young children) but really can this be it? It certainly feels like there is more to it :-( I just want to cry all the time as its getting me down so much it's got to the point I don't want to go to the doctors as I feel they look down on me or roll their eyes and say oh god not her again, last time I went they asked me what do you think it is... I was like I don't know that's why I am here asking for your help to find out, I'm not the doctor..! This is the second post I've put in this forum and there have been some really positive replies which I'm grateful for just wish we all had a cure x

Hi love don't panic I've got the same just be calm I been bad for 3 days now feels horrible again like my life if over . Maybe it's my time of month what's already worse anyway . Or maybe it's the horrendous weather. I have had ct scan mri everything been diagnosed with vestibular neuritis . MAV AND MDDS by all different ent and doctors .. just have to wait it out because all I know is it ain't dangerous physically it is to my sanity so I have to just try and stay calm because thinking and panicing about it I find makes it worse. Don't worry if u have it lay down the chance is very low that u gave anything to so with ur brain it will be defo ur ear if it doesn't ease when lay down. Same as me last night sweating and sinking through my bed . Then feeling of I'm tipping off it. Then it's a boat . If I skip meals . Get stressed or tired it feels worse. Maybe it's adrenals . Hormones I don't know . I have a normal life when I eat healthy and stay positive then it comes bk. I had it constant for 17months every since day mornjng till night . Torture like I was on a boat. And now am left with some good days some bad. It will go it has to or I wudnt have good days more and more often ... chin up xxxxxx

Hi Emma doctors I am sorry are not much except for ordering tests they think we are crazy doctor thought I was just anxious well of course I am anxious I can't walk straight d uhhhh any how get outside help like a physico therapist is a start I have bppv and also vestibular neuritis it has been a long journey but things are getting better i still do balance excercises twice a day they do help good luck

Best thing for you to do is ask your doctor that you want a balance specialist - important word vestibular specialist ! Blow your doctor/ENT off unless they are a specialist in this field -you are not alone there are thousands of us poor souls dealing with doctors that know nothing and just guessing ! Grrrrrr! I have/had BPPV only recently after 5 months of confined space of my home was sent to Sydney ( 2400 km) away and had the Omniax Chair , and my health condition improved out of sight! Still headaches and a slight wave here and there but I'm back sort of working ! I now can walk into shopping centres (photophobia ) and cross roads (confusion/ anxiety) yep anxiety plays a big role because you don't know what is going on ! Stay calm as vestibular issues are many so demand the vestibular specialist (ENT are not specialist unless they study this area) and best of luck ! Find a FB group that understands which helps!

Are you you on some form of medication ( serc for example to help control the dizziness?) have they tried the Hallpike to rule out BPPV?) lay you down and do a head turn to trip the vertigo?) if you spin you have BPPV and the Epley is all you may need , for me that didn't work after 4 times but made it worse so was sent to Sydney! Anyways best of luck , your not alone and demand a specialst in this area- some physios are specialst in this area and take more time to understand what is going on-  Best of luck !

Hi Emma.....OMG yes I would be sitting in a chair and it woulsd come on all of a sudden I would feel like I was going to fall over....I think my meds are not working as good as they were....starting to get dizzy all over again........You go to as many drs as you need to in order to find an answer........There is a reason why this is happening....I am still trying too.......Feeling tired and stressed is all part of this  I have a drs appt tomorrow.......Dont know what she is going to say.......But I know I cant live like this the rest of my life

Thank you for your reply it's so horrible I've booked an appointment for the morning I don't know what I'm going to say apart from I can't go on like this something or someone has to help or give me answers rather than just fob me off with tablets to take all the time, I've taken so many tablets of late that I rattle when I walk! Do you get headaches to with the dizzyness? I just done trying to work out for myself what's going on as I'm just stressing myself thinking it's the end and googling things which I know I shouldn't but I need an answer to why we feel like we do x let me know how u get on at docs tomorrow x

Hi Emma, Have recentky deen diagnosed with Vertigo by my GP who

proceeded to prescribe Betahistine and assured me that all would be

well in gig time. Let me assure you, however, that I am going to return to

him with this insistsesnce that Vertigo is a hold-all diagnosis and that I am demanding a more precise diagnosis of the category of the illness that

is afflicting me. Intend to become a self-manager of this incapaciting

condition: that is the  surest and most prudent way for me to remain

and focused. But as i have shares with you, i am in the early stages of

    vertigo
