Dizzyness and fatigue

One of the worst aspects to having fibro for me is the sudden fatigue which can knock me out for anything from a few hours to a couple of days.

This is normally with waves of dizzyness and lightheadedness.

During the last weekend the fatigue was not too bad, but the dizzyness and lightheadedness was almost constant and severe.  Even laughing at the TV caused me to have a wave of these symptoms.

My GP has put me on Amitriptylene about a week ago.  They havent helped much with my sleeping, but they have eased the night pain and restless leg syndrome.

Has anyone else on Amitriptylene had dizzyness without the fatigue?

Agreed the fatigue can hit like a sledgehammer.  I don't get the dizzyness but do get fibro fog.  I tried medication but all the side effects were worse than the original problems so I just use diet (no processed foods) meditation, chiropractor, hynotherapy, and supplements. Until this week this regime had kept me well for a couple of years.  Hopefully it will all settle down for a while soon.

Well your living proof that we can manage our symptoms with diet and suitable suppliments, two years wow thats good. There was a programme on tv last week proving how even type 2 diabetes was being completly reversed by a change of diet!

Self help is the best sort of help!  I won't say I haven't suffered at all because I have but I have been able to hold down a job, look after the family and pets without completely knocking myself out. Pacing oneself is the object of the exercise.  When I was diagnosed the doctor said "positive mental attitude" hard sometimes but it does help, as does a sense of humour.

Hi.  Sorry to hear of your troubles.  I take amitriptyline and I have to say since my dose has been uped it does tend to help me sleep reasonably well. Sadly though I never wake up feeling refreshed.
