Hi I'm new to all this but need other people's opinions as my doctors are rubbish!!started over a year ago I was doing a treatment on a client and I totally blacked out and my heart was racing so fast,my colleague carried me to a room where they called an ambulance for me,had a ecg done and it came back normal, since that day I constantly nearly black out,i've got constant brain fog, just feels like I'm here but I'm somewhere else,i've be had all my bloods done they came back fine I've had a tilt table test which is fine,so they put it down to anxiety which I no wasn't the case, they done my blood pressure more times then I can remember and then just decided it was low blood pressure,I lost my career and was out of work for a year I've just managed to get a new job totally different to what I normally do but I'm just scared now as it's happening more often, every time I go to doctors they just look as If I'm wasting there time,if anyone has the same issue id be really grateful for hints and tips to stop me feeling like this,it's so depressing constantly feeling this way and no friends or family understand, thanks

Hi Sam, Don,t bother with GP anymore except to,go and say you want (not a request, WANT)an referral to a Nero Otologist!  Don,tget fobbed of with ENT,that will waste you a year at least!  You are entitled to this.  Don,t know where you live, but go on line and look for hospital that has one, or if you live in the South look at the Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Don,t be put off by the surgery bit, it,s a big hospital that deals solely with neuro stuff), Neuro-otology department.  These are the best and only people that will give you a thorough consultation, Exam, testing etc. I have spent four years getting to,the point of seeing them as was messed around with ENTs etc.  You probably had virus that first time  when it came on suddenly, a lot,of,us do/did! MDont, buy the anxiety thing, they all try that one on. the only anxiety comes AFTER due,to the Symtoms!  to be honest there,s not much you can do to, 'stop, it when it happens, except go,to bed and stay still!  You will eventually be given exercises, as I have been, to,do, to desensitise things.  So, go,on line, do your research, write the name of consultant you want to,see,,or at least the hospital, maybe. Print out with their details, gp, like that, ththen They can just copy it all down!

So a few things you can consider. When the bllod work was done did they check your Vitamin D, B12, Magnesium, and Iron levels. You can also look up info about the SCM muscle which is in your neck. Neck starin can sometimes make you lightheaded. ALso do a search for a forum called dizzy times, people there might be able to help.

Hi Sam welcome to our mad world.  Unfortunately theres more of this about than you think and youve come to the right place to talk about it.  I got dizzy one day on holiday two and a half years ago and its stayed ever since.  Had weird neurological conditions all related to the head, eyes dizziness and balance.  Weve all started off with GP, ENT, scans, neuro surgeons, and I finally ended up with neurologist. It took almost a year to get a diagnosis.  By that time I had had two panic attacks and passed out.  I thought I had MS.  Finally when I had lost my best friend as she didnt believe there was anything wrong, and had lost my eyesight at work, which did come back, I got a diagnosis of silent migraine.  I went to the migraine clinic in harley st and they explained it all to me.  I have trouble with my eyes and lights and colours.  Ive had endless different tablets, but the only thing that worked up to now was botox.  Turns out theres a big muscle going thru your head, eyes, top of head, back of head, neck and under it is a nerve.  When this muscle get irritated, it in turn irritates the nerve and causes the weird and different neurological conditions depending on which part of the brain the nerve belongs to.  Hence we all have slightly different symptoms.  It might be youve got the same.  Then again it could be something similar but different.  Weve all learnt though that stress and anxiety which this causes, makes it a million times worse. Who wouldnt be scared to death, no one knows whats going on and its so scarey.  Plus its so debilitating.  I can no longer have a social life at all.  I do manage going to work but thats it.  Its very depressing.

If you live in the north, Salford Royal Hospital is the top place for neurologists etc.  Dr Jones and Dr Zermansky very good.  I agree with the others, GP dont have a clue, ENT even less idea, someone should teach them.  We all know more about it than any ENT.  Get to a neurologist.  The botox freezes the muscle which lets the nerve heal and I found a lot of my symptoms disappeared but unfortunately the dizziness stayed.  I did have a thing with my eyes, they were jumping about and that went with the botox.  Waiting for the next lot.  Try and rest, get sleep, dont get anxious if possible.  It will all help.  Get a diagnosis.  Try the migraine clinic in London it cost £300.

Hi sam79995, One of the few things i did was neck exercises, for me its been over 7 weeks, i had pain in ear, massive vertigo, build up of pressure in the ear etc.

For me it all started after a weight lifting session followed by a plyometric cardio session.

I have been to an ENT but he was complete tool. You can google neck exercises that would also stretch the ear space. Hope this helps

I have just googled your area and if you do the same you will see the main hospital, down there has otolaryngologist a, which are similar, and I also, saw otologists in the descriptions somewhere. You can take lots,of,home remedies for alleviation, like steaming, out a pan of water on your stove and keep it there for,WhenYou need it, Don,tput anything in justwater is all you need, not to hot just enough to get steam and breath that in a few times a day.  Pills Don,t mKe much difference I am sorry to say.  You can try he homeopathic remedy Cocculous, which is for travel, sickness and jet lag, I am using that today as don,t feel, good. Have  you ever taken Homeopathics before? MAs far as supplements go, I take various ones to keep my energy levels up due,to,the tiredness etc this condition causes, B12 complex, vitamin D m

Vitamin C, 1000mg ones, Fish Oils.  good, quality ones though, no good buying cheap vitamins you may as well, flush them Down the loo!,

Hi, I know how you feel. I and fortunate as I am older and retired.  You have to,learn to,pace yourself, which is hard in your job I know, although moving around is good in some ways,,it does tire you out I know that after a hour or so,of housework I am shattered and have to rest.  Listen another good supplement for energy that a holistic dr formerly a GP,so he knows both sides!) put me on is Co Enzyme Q10.  You can get that in Tesco, and he told me theirs is as good as any health shops!! Not  that cheap, but you only need one a day. Get that too alright.? Your C should Be 1000mg, lower than that is no good, you can take more if you are okay with C (I am. But some people aren,t. It they get runs),  Also Vit B. Complex.  all,of,these are good for energy, and will boost your immune system. Especially if you re working around people in the care home.  do you, like shakes and juices?  If so and  you have a juicer, if not, buy a cheap one in Argos, and start making yourself up,juice from fresh fruit and take to work with you, or at breakfast.   for. MOre tips, look up,on line the Ménière's websites, even if you don,t have that form of vertigo, they have good advice for relieving stuff.  You have to,do this yourself as GP,s won't (they don,t even know how!)
