dla

so got the dreaded brown envelope saying my daughter does not qualify for dla for complex ptsd they said to qualify she would need help with bodily functions to use the toilet and need regular monitoring and be a substantial danger to herself and others. they clearly didn't look at my application as I stated my daughter fits into both categories on application. she gets woken during the night to encourage her to use the toilet otherwise she will urinate on her bedroom floor sometimes the other finding faeces on her bedding and as for being a danger to herself and others my youngest daughter who is 7 is on child protection with social services against my eldest as she is classed as a serious danger to her as she is a self harmer and made several threats to kill her sibling. does this not class as a child qualifying for dla or do these people just not care about the genuine public making a claim??

don't mean to be offensive but why is everyone now having a debate about doctors and (guard dogs) on my forum this was meant to be about a discussion regarding a claim for dla for a child nothing else!!!

      Hi Davinia

It's nothing personal just the culture of this message board which is open to everyone. It is not unusual to find others posting about their medical problems on someone else's thread.

I do sympathise but you have to understand that's how it works.

The way your post has evolved is down to me - sorry. It follows on from advice that Anthony gave you a while back telling you to get a supporting letter from your GP. I added that whilst that is a good idea some, including myself find that GP's are reluctant to do that and even make it difficult for a patient to approach a GP with that agenda in mind.

?My deviation was meant to be a warning to you and anybody else that comes across this type of problem. Not all GP's have sympathy for a patient when all they want is a letter of support so that they can get more out of the welfare pot that GPs' pay into.
