DLA Changeover

Hi I wonder if anyone can answer the question regarding the DLA Changeover to Pip, as when it was first introduced anyone who was 64 on or before October 2013 ( I think this is the correct date) were allowed to remain in receipt of DLA, but my query is why are these claimants exempt, whilst younger people were made to change to PIP, this to me seems very unfair, this seems to be a case of one rule for one and another rule for others as everyone should have been made to change over despite their age. zebra20

    Hi,

You actually have the age and date wrong. If you were 65 or over on 8th April 2013 you wouldn't be changed over to PIP. This is because PIP is for those 65 and under, which is exactly the same as DLA was.  They have to give a cut off age/date to be fair. It's just become more unfortunate that the transfer has take a lot longer than they thought it would.
