DLE

So a few weeks ago I posted my worrysomeness on here about my results. I saw the rheumatologist yesterday and it was confirmed. Al though, he diagnosed me as having DLE and not SLE and said we’ll just have to keep monitoring me. Does anybody else have DLE? And would it be likely to turn into SLE?

    Hi there,

yes I have DLE and in rare cases it can develop into SLE.  It's important to take care when you are out in the sun. You need to wear a hat, wear sunscreen on face as well as body.  I wear a 60 on my face and 50 on my body.  I've gone from a summer person to a winter person. I am sorry I missed seeing your initial post on this. They had me on plaquenil for a year which helped a lot and I went into remission.  You still have to stay on top of it.  Sometimes I can have flare ups and must apply medication. You must be vigilant and don't let anything slide.  Let me know if you have any further questions.

    take care
