That could all be caused by IBD. These are concerning symptoms but different kinds of abdominal problems could cause these, not just colon cancer. Get more tests, I recommend a colonoscopy

I don't think you have colon cancer. So many things make stool hard depending on what you eat. Maybe take a stool softener. Yoir bleeding from the pushing.. I am sure you are fine but I get being nervous.

    Hi John,

Bleeding per rectum can be a sign of colon cancer but it’s more likely to be from haemorrhoids and straining with chronic constipation. Sharp pain could also be as a result of constipation and maybe you have a small fissure in your rectum.

You need to go to your Doctor and ask them to have a thorough look and refer you to a specialist for a colonoscopy if necessary.

I’ve had problems myself in this area so I know how debilitating it can be and how it can affect your whole life.

    Good luck

Take care and please let us know how you get on

I agree with jane. Its too early to diagnose a colon cancer you need a proof. Try these chang your diet increase your fiber rich foods. For example  eating lots of fruits and vegetables. Drinking plenty of water also helps alot and try to be active by doing exercises for example jogging or brisk walking 3x a week. It could be anal fissure also the cause of your bleeding.

What colour is the blood? Dark or fresh?

As the blood is fresh it is likely to be your hemorrhoids or you could possibly have a polyp. It wouldn’t hurt to get a flexible sigmoidoscopy if it is worrying you. If you are very constipated that will make everything more painful. Burgers are probably not the best diet as you I am sure are aware. Drink plenty of water and eat more salad or veg. In the mean time get a stool softener like Senokot.

Constipation can cause fissures and haemorrhoids if you are straining for a bowel movement. They can cause.bright red blood. See your doctor for further tests such as an abdominal ultrasound, an h oylori stool test and fecal calprotectin to look for bowel inflammation.  Ask about a colonoscopy.  Maybe you have IBS.
