Do i have an STI????

Hello. I had unprotected sex for the first time about a week ago. I am pretty sure my partner has no STI's, but my penis started developing red spots a few days after, and it felt like my foreskin was swelling, but i can still retract it as easily as before. I am not sure what is happening, but i don't believe it is an STI, since i have had no pain in my penis besides some VERY mild itching behind the glans, which is gone now. Also, i have frenulum breve, and my theory is that the foreskin wasn't used to constantly retract during the intercourse, which was what caused this somehow.

I am really not sure, and would love some thoughts on this!!!

I have attached some pictures of my penis for further understanding (the white stuff at the bottom of the glans is just toilet paper)imageimage

As Lostknight suggests the best person to sort this would be a Dermatologist. Your regular Doctor / GP / Family Doctor can refer you to one, or you could go to a Genital Health Department at a General Hospital - most of these are referred to as GUM Clinics in the UK. Or, if you live elsewhere, check if you have a Specialist Sexual Health Walk-In Centre near you and ask to see the Duty Dermatologist or Urologist. Should be relatively straight forward to sort. In the mean time I will post my recommendations for all Men with Penile conditions like this, put as much in place as you can, and you will likely start to make progress before seeing a Specialist .......

Penile Hygiene Regime to Combat Specific Problems

The best approach is not to use ANY SOAP on the Glans / Head of your penis - wash with water only EVERY time you have urinated, after sexual arousal, and ejaculation. If you are not circumcised, protect the Glans of your penis every time you take a shower by drawing the foreskin as far forward as you can, then wash everywhere else, thoroughly rinse off all the gels / shampoo and suchlike, then expose your glans wash it with the water only using the inside of your hand, then each time you have washed it you must make sure to 100% pat dry immediately afterwards with a towel.

After you have put this in place and you still have the situation going on you need to look at what else your penis is coming into contact with on a fairly regular basis.  The likely suspects are:-

    • any chemical compounds such as skin cream / lotions, baby oil, oil based lubes, chemicals inside condoms (e.g. easy-on and spermicides) you need to exclude these one by one to discover the culprit, the easiest approach is to exclude everything to start with, then once things are on the mend, introduce each individual item to discover what has caused this in the first place.
    • if non of these make any difference you need to look to things such as washing powder in which you wash your clothes, and underwear in, in particular.  The simple alternative to washing powder is Liquid Soap Flakes, most sizeable supermarkets stock this in their own brand names - and you use this in your washing machine instead of powders or ANY fabric conditioner type additives.

If all this produces no resolution to what you have, or your condition dramatically worsens, seek medical advice from your regular Doctor - but please note, many do not fully understand the differences between the potential skin conditions you may potentially have.  Therefore, the better course of action may be to see a Dermatologist, or alternatively, go to a Specialist Sexual Health Service and ask to see the duty Urologist.

    Thank you the replies.

I started washing my entire body in the shower with soap, and then only exposed the glans at last when all the soap was gone.

After washing my glans every time i urinated, every morning and evening, and every time i ejaculated, i can say that the symptoms have almost disappeared!

I don't feel the itching anymore at all, and my glans almost looks how it used to do

So i deeply recommend just washing your glans as much as you can at every occasion possible!

hey man i have had almost the same red spots on my penis for the past 5 weeks, although they have gotten much better in terms of color and no irritation, they are still present.. how long did yours take to heal? i have also posted on here with the question

Make this a regular part of your penile hygiene and in 3 months you should see a real difference! When you cannot wash, such as when you are out of the house, you can use some toilet tissue or clean paper hanky to wipe any traces of urine from the tip of your penis and wash later.

For sex or masturbation I keep a fresh toweling face cloth by the bed so that I can remove all traces of semen and pre-ejaculate from my entire penis rather than go to wash all the time. Buy a pack of faceclothes that only YOU would use for this purpose, then wash them in Liquid Soap Flakes on a regular basis ......

this will vary from person to person and what it is that has caused it in the first place, and fundamentally, whether the case of the irritation has been treated correctly and exposure to it no longer occurs .....

For me it only took about 2 weeks, but i think it varies with every person, and how much you take care of it.

I was very paranoid in the period, so i avoided masturbation and sex entirely, and just focused on cleaning as effectively as possible
