Do I have anxiety ?

Hello there !

I'm a teenage girl aged of 17 years old. I've always had a stressful personnality, I would have panic attacks from time to time at night when I would start spiralling about things. But it was quite rare.

My grandpa died almost 3 months ago (it's the first time I've experienced a death in my family) The day after the funeral I had the biggest panic attack of my life and it led me to the ER. I got checked and all was good. But since then I've been anxious almost all the time. And I've started worrying about my heart mostly idk why. I did an ecg that was perfectly fine. I'm young and in good health. But the anxiety is here. I often check my pulse, I experience shortness of breath, heart palpitations (i can feel my heart beating and also skipped beats) and tachycardia. Whenever I move my heart rate increases. The fun thing is I can totally handle a football training of 1h15 without any problems. Do I have post traumatic stress, anxiety or even cardiophobia ? Thanks in advance for your answers, wish you all the good 😃

    Clemence,

Sorry about your Grandpa. Often we have underlying anxiety and some event kind of brings it to the surface.

I started my panic attacks at age 16.

I would very strongly suggest you go to the doctor get a check-up then you will know all is well and go for some therapy.

You are young, please don't waste your time, like some of us oldies on these forums, on worrying about things that may never happen and that if they do, there is nothing that can be done about it anyway.

    Best of luck!
